Sad because -if it's impossible for the immune system to recognize cancer cells as foreign, then it is impossible to fight the disease with just boosting immunity and changing diet/lifestyle as many alternative protocols recommend. " It might have been better to have said, " some recommend " and there may be instances where the body cannot recognize cancer cells but we should not jump to Conventional Conclusions based on yet another article about some 'breakthrough'. I have been watching these charlatans for more than 55 years and also these past six years those in the Alternative field pitching the 'life-style' - 'diet' game as all that one might need to do. So many people eat reasonably well that diet changes may not have much of an impact on their body's ability to fight cancer and giving up certain 'bad' life-style habits might be good for the body, generally, but may not be enough to overcome cancer. Let us assume that chlorine, in some fashion helped the cancer to develop in my bladder, or maybe the early years of smoking did. Stopping these will not be enough to put the cancer into remission. The people that are helping patients go into or stay into remission (there's that word again) do a lot more than those two things mentioned above. Some do use vaccines and there is obviously merit in their use for some cancers and perhaps we will learn more than we thought about what they help. Do not allow one article to side-track the well-researched efforts some of us attempt to use in battling this pathology called cancer. As for those in advanced stages I still recommend they work with someone that knows what works and what doesn't. I will be the first, if I'm around, to herald anything that works but I intend to act as though I am from Missouri and want it proven! All these years have not shown me much. The War on Cancer is like The War on people..............it is profitable and 'they' are not going to give up profits. A little mistrust here? You bet! Joe C. Guest guest
A little clarification always helps. You also used 'if' and that is the way to do it because nobody has proved that the Immune System 'never' recognizes cancer cells. Cancer cells may strive to be hidden so we do things to interfere with this and also help cause apoptosis (cell death). Joe C.
