Guest guest
Thanks so much for all the feedback in response to my post about Zometa. There was good advise which I will follow such as insisting on a longer infusion time than 15 minutes which is what I've been told is the time it will take to administer. I will insist on lower doses and longer infusion time to lesson side effects. Also, mentioned was the combo of Xeloda with chemo. I have been given Zometa. However, I was only on it for one week before my red blood cell counts crashed. I was given a transfusion. Now almost two weeks later, my counts have not gone up on their own. Therefore, I am unable to start retaking the Zometa. Any suggestions for getting my body to increase production of RBC's? Perhaps someone could contribute additional info and directions to move me out of this stalemate I find myself in. The cancer has been resistant to other chemo therapies. It appeared that the combo was having some effect on the tumors, but with the radiation alone, not so good... Please offer any info you feel might be of some help. And any questions that would help clarify my situation for you to be able to offer advise. And just for the record, I am definately more inclined to alternative therapies and supplements. I just find myself in a situation where I don't have a lot of choices. On the subject of Omega 3's...I have read Peskins book, and believe it to be a great way to fight cancer. It is very well written. I was taking supplements referred to as PEO's ( parental essential oils ) a couple of years back and they had very good effects on my symptoms such as blood pressure normalizing and a good amount of extra energy and clarity of mind, as well as lessoning body pain. My thanks to you all, Beth
