In Dec/07 I found a very smooth oval lump in my breast (I was 38 yrs old). I went straight to the hospital and got a mammo. They were 99% it was a cyst and not to worry about it. Almost 1 month later, the lump changed into something a little larger that felt like it had soft " erradically shaped " tissue surrounding it. I did not worry about it and by July/05 it was gone. In Aug/07 I got the EXACT same lump back and went for a mammo in Jan/08 (I was 41 yrs old). My Dr. nor I were worried about it. They found IDC in both breasts. The lump I could feel was medium growing. The other breast lump was slow growing. I don't have much use for statistics especially when it comes to these diagnostic machines. I believe that first mammo had a lot to do with the cancer diagnosis in the right breast. I had a lot of chest x-rays when I was kid as I always reacted to the TB needles. At that time they said these x-rays were not dangerous. Now they are documented as a contributing cause of breast cancer later on in adulthood. > > Louise >
