Guest guest
Apparently the safety of Iodine has to do if the radiation emitted is iodine and not Cesium or some other—if there is some other.? Today I heard that taking Potassium Iodide before the threat is close can negate its benefits. Again, a question mark for me. As for the Miso soup which we know is beneficial by itself and without a Radiation threat, perhaps it doesn’t have the same negating effect, if there is one, as does Potassium Iodide if taken when no threat exists. The problem is that even the experts are all over the place Joe C. Joe, As it stands, pharmacies and online sites are sold out of Potassium Iodide. That being said, the KI protects the thyroid, but not the rest of the body. In the news there is much attention being paid to radioactive nuclear exposure—revisiting disasters at Three Mile Island and Chernobyl. Did you know that clinoptilolite zeolite was used at Three Mile Island to clean up radioactive wastes long before Chernobyl ever happened? As to Chernobyl, more than 500,000 tons of zeolite was dumped (via helicopter) to absorb radioactive chemicals and other harmful toxins that were released during the disaster. In addition, cattle were fed zeolite to help keep radioactive ions out of milk, and zeolite was baked into cookies/biscuits (for children) and encapsulated into pills (for adults) to help minimize the contamination in humans. Since Chernobyl, zeolite has been integrated into use at other nuclear plants (across the U.S. and Britain) as well as municipal water treatment facilities (to reduce the ammonium ion concentration.) With the above in mind consider this, if the impact of nuclear disaster was minimized and future exposure to harmful chemicals might be reduced by the use of raw zeolite, imagine the health assurance potential of a micronized, activated Zeolite! For more information, check out the PDF attached “La Roca Magica: Uses of Natural Zeolites in Agriculture and Industry,†(presented at the 1998 National Academy of Sciences colloquium ‘‘Geology, Mineralogy, and Human Welfare,’’ and later printed in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.) It’s full of great information regarding the extensive application for zeolite, but the real eye opener is found on page 4 (3466) in the section appropriately called Nuclear Waste & Fallout. Here is a link to the same article. _http://www.pnas.org/content/96/7/3463.full?sid=3bcf8a83-3968-4c2a-a832-f4f6 fdd75de2_ (http://www.pnas.org/content/96/7/3463.full?sid=3bcf8a83-3968-4c2a-a832-f4f6fdd7\ 5de2) . I use NCD zeolite every day, anyway, for prevention, as I have a strong family history of cancer. I am bumping up the amount I am taking, just in case, because I don't believe what they say about only small amounts getting to this country. Here is a link for getting the NCD zeolite - the only true micronized and cleansed zeolite. Barb
