Guest guest
What are Butyrate and Amitrix? I just read about these on the LDN site, but I have no idea what they are or what they do. A web search revealed almost nothing.
Guest guest
" What are Butyrate and Amitrix? I just read about these on the LDN site, but I have no idea what they are or what they do. A web search revealed almost nothing. " *************************************** I'm sorry. I had hoped to answer this question about two days ago, but life's experiences got in my way. I'll paste in three or four web addresses concerning the above that I hope will help to answer some of your questions. Here we go. ARTEMIX (artemesinin, artesunate, artemether): Please note the names of the writers of the abstract below. Both have been researching artemesinin at the University of Washington for more than 10 years. Singh, M.D, PhD has been particularly helpful to a number of us. Artemix consists of the same formula that is used in the research at the University of Washington and is more active than simple artemesinin. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15330172?dopt=Citation http://www.teklinepublishing.com/realcure3.htm http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/1678469.stm#top http://tinyurl.com/4jmamv Another abstract. ************************************************** Butyrate (Supports/compliments Artemix): Dr. Singh recommends taking butyrate along with Artemix. Hmmmmm, I'm going to make it easy on myself and simply copy and paste from a letter I had preveiously sent to another person privately. Unfortunately, I cannot remember if I wrote the letter in rich text or plain, so I don't know whether or not the following will come through clearly. If this does not translate well to the group, please let me know, and I'll try to do better. Here goes. A paper: http://www.ldn4cancer.com/files/artemisinin-butyrate_and_DHA.pdf I hate it when news hounds write sensational titles as in the following, but the reporting is pretty much on target. N. Singh, M.D., PhD's photo, is in this article. http://www.teklinepublishing.com/realcure3.htm If you decide to purchase artemisinin, please only purchase that which has been studied. I'll enter a link for purchase a little later. http://www.springboard4health.com/notebook/nutrients_artemisinin.html Here are a group of sources. ARTEMISININ STUDY ABSTRACTS http://www.drlam.com/opinion/artemisinin_study_abstracts.cfm From the Townsend Letter for Doctors & Patients Artemisinin: From Malaria to Cancer Treatment http://www.townsendletter.com/Dec2002/artemisinin1202.htm www.newswise.com/articles/view/?id=CANCER.UWA http://www.mwt.net/~drbrewer/canart1.htm cells.http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/1678469.stm#top http://www.springboard4health.com/notebook/nutrients_artemisinin_angiogenesis.ht\ ml http://www.keepblairalive.com/artelam.html http://www.antiaging-systems.com/a2z/artemisinin.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artemisinin Now, here are purchasing links. Artemix: This is fairly expensive. I just swallowed hard and bought enough for the full 5 months - nightly for 2 months & every other night for 3 months. It was worth it. The straight artemisinin taken after the first 5 months is much less expensive. http://www.hepalin.com/orderform.htm Butyrate: http://www.bodybio.com/main/products/butyrate.htm ************************************************** Here is a portion of a letter Dr. Singh kindly sent to me. " Artemisinin may be taken 3 to 4 hours after dinner with a cup of milk or spoonful of ice cream (without flavors or additives e.g. Brayers natural vanilla) and once a week with few spoons of yogurt (having fat, but no flavors or fruits) with live lactobacillus. The purpose of giving 3-4 hour interval after evening meal is to make sure stomach is almost empty, as the drug interacts with the iron contents of food. This 3 to 4 hour time interval should be used for pleasant physical and mental activities. Physically inactive individuals do not respond well to this treatment. Also, 500 mg vitamin C and 400 units of vitamin E may be taken at breakfast. The patient should not have a recent history of smoking (in last 6 months) and radiations (in last 2 months). You may continue treatment every day for 8 weeks, if the results are positive (symptoms, MRI, CAT scans) then, the patient may take Artemisinin in alternate days for 3 to 4 months, but with vitamin C & E daily. If there is no response in 8 weeks, switch to other therapy. Additionally, the patient may take 2 to 8 capsules of butyrate (http://www.e-lyte.com/downloads/SP320%20Butyrate%20100%20%202.pdf) at the same time along with Artemisinin, if the patient can tolerate. I want to let you know that this is not a FDA approved drug for cancers. There are no known side effects taken in suggested dosage for a use of upto 2 years (This information is only based on only two patients). There are no known clinical trials. Please do not hesitate to call me. " ************************************************************ There are a number of papers in PubMed regarding artemisinin. In all honesty, I have not yet checked for butyrate in PubMed; however, I trust Dr. Singh of the University of Washington, of all people, to have investigated butyrate's synergistic action. Warm wishes to all, Jan
