Guest guest
If anyone has been following my posts you will know that I have been suffering debilitating pain for about 4 weeks. Due to the fact that the pain was all over the abdominal area, the doctors assumed (given my medical history) that I must have a small bowel obstruction. An upper GI tract test today revealed no obstruction whatsoever (preliminary report by the radiologist). But the pain remains. So I am thinking more and more what Mike Golden said to me earlier -- that I probably have a duodenal ulcer. Regarding the pain relief: Coffee enemas were mildly effective, for about 6 hours. DLPA seems to help some -- if taken first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. I believe that D phenylalanine would be even better, and I may order some from iHerb. I have to be careful with this stuff, because I am very sensitive to it, and too much makes me hyper aggressive and irritable. There are several cures for ulcers I've read about, but I need something to get me out of this pain in a hurry, which could include allopathic medicine for the short term, so I can get out of my fetal position and back into the human race. Naturopathic cures I've read about on this board include: 1. Cabbage juice, perhaps with some ginger. Saurkraut might also be good for the same reason (cabbage juice) 2. several grams of l-glutamine throughout the day. 3. colloidal silver to kill h-pylori. Nature's Sunshine also makes some other herbal product they claim kills h pylori. Allopathic cures might include: 1. Bismuth salts (bismuth salicylate), also known as pepto bismol. 2. Tagamet, which also has anti colon cancer effects. 3. Prilosec (proton pump inhibitor, whatever the hell that means). 4. One month long round of HEAVY DUTY antibiotics to kill the h-pylori. This could really screw up other things, but I know the doctor will push for it hard. 5. Sucralfate -- brand name Carafate. This stuff really cleared up duodenal ulcers in a hurry for me in the past. One month and they were GONE. Boom. The drawback? This stuff is ALUMINUM! I need to take 4 grams of aluminum a day!!! It really is magical stuff -- it finds ulcers and coats them with a cement, completely shielding the ulcers from stomach acid. It does not otherwise affect the acidity of the stomach, so food is digested as normal. And it doesn't get into the bloodstream very much. However, it may have played a role in promoting my colon cancer, because I had to use it multiple times in the past. So I am wondering what to take to clear up the agonizing pain in a hurry, get back on my feet, and back into the human race. I am playing with the idea of doing something allopathic for a month or so, then following up from that point on with naturopathic medicine. One huge issue is that my main line of defense against cancer are the supplements I take -- Sutherlandia OPC, artemisinin, beta glucan, LDN, etc, etc, etc. I have not been able to keep up with the supplement regimem with the stomach pain problem at all, which really worries me. So I really need to get this cleared up for that reason too. Comments? Suggestions?
