I will do capsules myself. In fact, I would like to combine these two herbs (in powder form) in one capsule (I have 00 capsules). Does anybody know the doses for ginseng and astragalus? And can I take them together? Lana
Guest guest
lana if you want to make it you self as it would be much cheeper you can make a ginseng and astragalus tincture ( " A tincture is an alcoholic solution of a chemical or drug.) to make a ginseng and astragalus tincture let start with astragalus tincture but the ginsinsing made the same way Chop your astragalus root as fine as possible with your knife. Fill your mason jar at least 1/3 full. Pour your vodka over the astragalus root until it is 2 inches above the herb. Cover your jar with the lid and shake it well. Put your tincture in a cool and dark location. Shake your tincture once a day for 8 weeks, and then place it back in a dark and cool location. Strain out the astragalus root by pouring your tincture through a cheesecloth into a bowl. Store your tincture in your mason jar, label the jar and keep it in a dark and cool location. Use 1 tsp. of your astragalus tincture in a cup of tea or water. You can take your tincture up to three times a day hope this helps Ray ________________________________ ________________________________ I would like to add ginseng and astragalus to my daily supplements. Both are EXCELLENT supplements for people healing from cancer. >Does anybody know the doses for ginseng and astragalus? All I've read is that high dose (6-12g) astragalus greatly boosts NK cell activity. “Astragalus…is [in] such common use with Chinese protocols…I know of no reason not to use it†Gammill, 5/29/10 “34 studies involving 2,815 patients with non-small-cell lung cancer [NSCLC] treated with chemotherapy alone or…chemotherapy and astragalus. The patients taking astragalus had a 33% lower risk for death after 12 months and a 24%-to-46% better tumor response†(2011) >And can I take them together? I read that ginseng's especially effective if taken w/astragalus. " Panax ginseng should be administered to any cancer patient undergoing surgery to promote healing and inhibit...metastasis. [i prescribe it to all my patients...together with other primary adaptogens. I use both the fluid extract [and] a super concentrated form containing 80% ginsenosides " ( Yance, 2009, www.mederifoundation.org). It prevents multiple drug resistance (MDR) (www.denvernaturopathic.com/news/multidrugresistance.html) Leonard

Guest guest
Wow, I did not realize I am trying to invent something that was invented centuries ago:) Thank you, all, very much for the information! It is very useful. However, it raises more questions. At least, I picked a direction for my research. Randall, thank you for tincture instructions. I, probably, won't make it right now because I avoid alcohol due to detox (I don't even use perfume). But for the future and for other family members – it is a great idea! The link you gave me is very valuable. I see, I will have to spend some time researching it. Leonard, I was not diagnosed with cancer. I have cysts in my breast. Doctors decided to wait to determine whether it is dangerous or not. I am not waiting!!! As it was advised (by , I believe) I did thermography test several days ago. It did not show any signs of high temperature anywhere in breast area, but it shows something abnormal in the area where I feel the pain. So, I study the body with Teaching company ( " How we fail and how we heal " ) on a cellular level. And, besides being vegan, I take Essiac tea twice a day, Ashvagandha, Turmeric and vitamins. I wouldn't want to eat supplements all day, this way I would barely have time to have normal food…But as far as I understand, ginseng and astragalus brings balance… Also, it (ginseng) was recommended by Cousens (I attended his lectures last weekend). If you find any more links on this combination, I would appreciate. Otherwise, it is already a lot for me to do before my hormone levels test will arrive:)) Again, thank you very much for your support! Guest guest
Thank you. So far, I did not find in which proportion I should mix them. Some companies also add other herbs to balance different types of Qi. But nobody discloses a proportion. It is very much recommended to use after chemotherapy and radiation to strengthen the body as I found out. Lana
