Guest guest
I sure this issue has been addressed before but I was unable to find it in the archives. Can one use flax oil instead of olive oil in the gallbladder flush? Thanks, mike

Flax oil is a polyunsaturated oil, and large amounts can be very damaging to your health. There is a good article here you can read: http://www.coconut-info.com/facts_on_flax.htm Stick with the monounsaturated olive oil, it is much safer. Guest guest
I differ in my opinion with regard to the information discussed below. Much of the negative information given in the writeup, in simple terms, speaks of the oil being harmful when it becomes oxidized (spoiled in a sense from poor manufacturing and storage). Flax seed oil should be purchased from a reliable source, and then I store my bottles of liquid flax seed oil in the refrigerator and use by date on label, and put my gelcaps in the freezer as soon as they arrive. Flax seed oil is a wonderful oil with omega's and also has great anti-inflammatory properties. This is especially nice for the discomfort some feel after a flush in the bile ducts, liver and gallbladder. I use it with my flushes, 1 part olive oil to 1 part flax seed oil, and for a few days after, all my usual aches and pains are gone as an extra bonus to flushing :-) L. Guest guest
I agree with this portion of the article from the coconut-info site: " The seed eaten whole or ground into a meal provides health benefits unrelated to its oil content. Many of the health claims you hear attributed to flaxseed oil are not really a product of the oil, but of the fiber in the seed. " Anything refined is not as good as the whole product. For example, remember when people found that we needed the wheat germ that had been removed from the wheat. Also, too much of anything is no good. Yes, be careful of how you store flax seed oil, it should not be allowed to go rancid. What's the difference between flax seed oil and linseed oil (which is poisonous)? I am curious as they both come from the same seed (I thought). ~Suzanne < claudiameydrech@c...> wrote: > I differ in my opinion with regard to the information > discussed below.
