There should be a lot of info coming, but for starters, be sure he gets enough

quality rest. You are working on his D levels find out those levels and get

them up. When diagnosed my D-3 level was low at 14 and that was eight years

ago. Yesterday produced results showing I am now at 52 and I’ve been taking

2 – 5,000 I.U.s a day and alternate with at least 3 days of almost total body

exposure to the sun and in South Florida that’s a lot of sun.

Some of us simply do not get enough D-3 from the sun and I want to get the level

over 60.

You certain can beat those numbers re Survival but you have to work at it which

you have already started.

Keep up the good work.

Hi Margaret,

I just wanted to let you know that my cousin is a 30 year survivor of ocular

melanoma. He went to a doctor in San Francisco who is supposed to be the best

in this field. Also, another cousin just married a woman who ALSO had ocular

melanoma and went to the same doctor. She's, maybe, 5 or more years out of

treatment.

All my best to you and your husband.

Hi Margaret,

I am six years out with Ocular melanoma. I was treated with proton beam in

the summer of 1995. Looking back getting cancer was the best thing that ever

happened to me. For at that time I was very unhealthy, typical American male. I

did change my diet, excercise more but the most important thing I ignored for

many years. My overall health is excellent these days and maintain a good diet.

I do avoid refined sugar when possible etc but on occasion do allow myself a

treat. I have studied those with OM for over 6 years and noticed one winning

formula. Its all in the attutude about life. Getting over stress, learning to

get past the FEAR of the label cancer. If your husband is highly stressed I

would encourage him to find a new job. I changed everything in my life possible

that causes me futher stress. I care about lifes problems but not that much. I

love life, enjoy nature and take one day at a time. For in reality today is all

we have, there is no promise of tommorrow. Yesturday is in the past we cant

change that. You can only change your life by changing your life. Since there is

no known cause of CM I removed everything in my life that causes cancer. Toxic

skins lotions, suncreen, bad processed foods and most important TOXIC thoughts.

I laugh more, love more and feed not only by body with important nutrition, I

feed my mind stress reduction cds, great music etc. I seldom watch TV at night

but instead read a good book I enjoy. Help him find a mentor in your area, could

be a Pastor, or someone he admires. Could be a person like Suzanne Summers or I

enjoy reading Dr Leonard Coldwell on his stress reductions cds.

I beleive there is not one cause of cancer, and there never will be one simple

cure for cancer. Anymore then the common Cold, Its been six years since I have

had a cold by the way. My immune system is running on all eight cylinders. I am

drug free not even a asprin, why would I never get headaches. So I would

encourage your husband to take his health into his own hands. No one else can,

but your Love and support goes along way. Baby steps at first for if he fills

punished then he wont stick with it long term. I enjoy this group for the

knowledge and carring love is way beyound I find anywhere else. Were a family

that doenst always agree but share a common bond for love of life!

All the best, MIke M

Hi Margaret:

I too read Suzanne Somers book Knockout and found Dr. . He had

everything I needed to get me to the next step which was prevention after

getting through a stage IV cancer diagnosis. I went to Mexico and had my tumors

removed, but I could not keep going back which is what they wanted me to do as I

live in MA. So, when I found Dr. G, they did everything for me, metabolic

typing, supplements to my specific needs, detoxing, etc., all set up in the

perfect protocol and with endless calls to them with any questions I had. It

was perfect for me!!! I am in such heaven as it was everything I wanted as it

is all alternative and just makes your body generate to great health. It is not

for everyone as you have to take a lot of pills, but I have found it is the

ultimate as I need never worry the cancer is coming back and I have everything

perfectly done for my body type!!!!

Because it is you and not your husband writing in, you obviously see more

benefit in alternative work than he does. It might be some work to get your

husband do this, unless he really takes to it and sees that it is really making

him feel better. My eyesight was the first thing I noticed changed within three

weeks!!!

Good luck,

Lois

Hi everyone -

I'm in the process of researching alternative tx for my husband (age 51). He

was diagnosed with ocular melanoma in Feb '11 and was recently treated w/ proton

beam radiation which gives 95-97% 5 year survival rate. After 10 years,

however, approximately 50% of those in the largest study done on this rare

cancer had not survived.

I want to do everything I can to help my husband be a survivor. He's really

busy w/ work and tired after so I feel it's up to me which is a mighty task.

I've gotten a reverse osmosis water filter, am pushing organics only, no sugar,

no white flour, lots of raw veggies. I've got him on a bunch of vitamins, his

Vitamin D was below normal.

He has poor eating habits, in my opinion. He doesn't eat much all day because

he's too busy and then eats a bunch at night. Im worried because he's so tired

at night.

I'm overwhelmed. What are the next steps I should take? Nutritional typing?

Naturopath?

We don't know if it has spread, haven't done any scans yet, and I know even if

you can't see mets they may be there so it seems to me that we have to assume

it's spread and act accordingly.

I'm heartened by what I read in Suzanne Somers book, Knockout, but since he's

not in dire straits at the moment that we know of, it's tempting to rest on our

laurels!

Thank you for being here....

Margaret

Thank you everyone for your feedback. I'm digesting it all a little at a time.

Mike, I " met " you over at the choroidal melanoma group. I'm glad I found you,

I like your feedback.

I really am oriented toward alternative treatments and know that this is the

right place for me to help my husband.

He's open, but he's super-busy and maybe a bit in denial or maybe just has a

different attitude from me. He's not one to research on the web, he just goes

w/ whatever..... I don't trust doctors that much!
