Guest guest
Just when I was ready to do a gallbladder flush, I read in an article ( a reputable source) that gallbladder flushes can be dangerous because the stone or stones could get lodged in the bile duct and make it neccessary for emergency surgery. I am putting off surgery as long as possible but I finally got an appointment with a surgeon on the 28th of September and from there I will go on a lengthly waiting list for surgery. My pain is regular and some times quite severe so any relief at this point will help. But I am very afraid of doing a cleanse and ending up with an infection in the bile duct and be in worse shape than before. Has a stone ever got stuck with any of you who have done the cleanse. Have the stones returned after the cleanse? I don't want a temporary fix when there is a permanent solution all be it painful.
Guest guest
Long ago, before they did the lazer surgery, I had my gall-bladder out. I wish I knew about cleansing then. To-day, I have 2 huge ruptures on the surgical line. The only way to fix them is to open me up and re-do them again. This my Dr. advises me not to do. Just my input on something you may not know can happen. The cause for me was pneumonia, and all the coughing related to it. Everything just tore. Carol....... First off, stones are already stuck in the liver or gallbladder and what we use the flush to do is to unstick them and get them to move through the common bile duct to the intestines and from there on out of the body. So, as regards stones being stuck they really already have done so. That's the main reason for the various levels of pain that are suffered. Since bile stones can be in either the gallbladder or the liver this is why the flush is referred to as a liver and gallbladder flush. The liver as well as the gallbladder is as capable of having a number of stones stuck in it and that too can cause a gallbladder like symptom. In fact my worst attack occurred because of my liver being damaged by a non-fat diet, and my gallbladder of which looked thickened and diseased with " A " stone looked great according to the ultrasound done to seek out the possible stone causing the pain. I can certainly appreciate your fear and apprehension to doing a flush and especially if an " authority " figure such as a medical doctor has written something along the lines of what you read. This simply reminds me of Dr. Stanley Milgram's psychology experiment of the '60's'. He showed just how people would react to the input of an authority figure over what they may personally desire to do and be relieved of the duty of conscience by means of that. http://www.dushkin.com/connectext/psy/ch15/bio15a.mhtml This is why this group allows us to be making personal choices instead of telling you just exactly what you should or should not be doing other that that of which is obvious such as avoiding all forms of processed foods, hydrogenated fats, animal fats, and man made chemicals such as aspartame. Otherwise you will be having to live with the results of your personal decision. There are some other considerations too in that when a gallbladder is removed there is the slight possibility of a nick or damage of some other organ. Or they may even fail to make sure all bile ducts are free of stones and that in turn can cause a blockage. So no matter what page it is that is read there is some sort of potential danger. Just ask the doctor about why the paperwork you'll be signing states that you will be accepting responsibly for the damage a doctor may cause while operating because operations do go wrong. Shoot, a sneeze at the wrong moment could certainly do some serious damage too, I've messed up a lot of paper while writing before getting a computer, just for that reason, those sneezes just sneak up and get you before you can react. This is the response you will almost always get from doctors. I look at it this way, first, it is very unlikely that a stone will get stuck. On the very outside chance that one does, it will be just as if it had happened without you doing anything, and you will go to the hospital and have it taken care of it, just like you would if one got stuck while not doing the flush. An infection will not develop before you know you need to address the problem. BUT I emphasize you aren't likely to have something get stuck. If you want to reassure yourself about the size of stones, you may want to go and have an ultrasound done. When people start having repeated attacks, the condition has gotten to the point that you need to do something. As for stones returning, yes, they do tend to, but will do so less if you learn to eat correctly. It has been explained to me that some just tend to make stones more than others. I have been doing the flush on and off for over 15 years...not over and over again like some on this list, but once or twice a year. Did let 5 years go by before doing my last one this spring, and am looking to it again real soon. So far have not had any painful attacks (not referring to while doing the flush, but in general) like folks describe on this list, thank the Lord, and hope it never comes to that. L.
