Hi Jim, regarding Cinnamon, workers grinding Cinnamon were found with skin and

eyes irritations not with cancer so I will not worry too much about this.

On Blooroot ( Sanguinaria canadensis)

A study by researchers at Ohio State University found that people who used an

older formulation of Viadent products (toothpaste and/or mouth rinse) were, on

average, nearly 10 times more likely to develop the lesions known as oral

leukoplakia than people who had never used the products.

=================

" The sanguinarine-related leukoplakic lesions are usually asymptomatic and the

majority aren't precancerous, but they could undergo malignant transformation at

some point, " said. " We do see a small percentage of biopsies with definite

precancerous changes.

While leukoplakia often causes no symptoms and may disappear, it can also

sometimes lead to oral cancer, said Carl , a study co-author and a

professor of oral pathology and dentistry at Ohio State University.

Sanguinarine, an antibacterial agent that comes from Sanguinaria canadensis, or

bloodroot, was once a key ingredient in Viadent products but has been removed

=========================

NOW, Leukoplakia affects about 1 to 5 percent of the U.S. adult population. A

study conducted in 1999 by another team of dental researchers found that 84

percent of 88 patients who had used Viadent products had developed oral

leukoplakia

==========================

Strangely enough bloodroot it still used in toothpaste and mouth rinse and more

patents were registered for its antibacterial properties. I wonder if others

ingredients in the the formulation of Viadent were not more dangerous than

bloodroot.

=================================================

OK, looking at the facts :9 % to 11% increase in leukoplakia leading eventually

in few cases of oral cancer.. MAYBE O, SOMETHING INCREASE IN ORAL CANCER... IF

BLOODROOT WAS THE CULPRIT ! Because Colgate use also Lauryl sulfate a known

carcinogenic product in theirs toothpaste.

Assessing risks :

Take at a common product like a mouthwash containing alcohol :

boosting risks of Oral Cancer by 900 Percent !!

See :http://www.naturalnews.com/025729.html

Consuming three or more alcoholic beverages per day raises a woman's breast

cancer risk approximately as much as smoking a pack of cigarettes daily,

according to a large-scale study presented at the European Cancer Conference in

Barcelona, Spain.

others) is that bloodroot has been linked to pre-cancerous lesions of the mouth.

This evidence is so strong that it was banned from use in mouthwashes, where it

was included for awhile due to its anti-bacterial properties.

around once or twice a day, what in the world is happening in the guts of people

that take it in pill form? (Myself included -- but I had to discontinue it a

couple of months ago due to severe GI irritation.)
