Guest guest
Rakhee, I am trying to help you out. The doctor I was talking to you about is modest and down to earth. Patients travel to him from the US and other places. He has no website, no advertisements and patients travel to him by word of mouth. He is different from others who pose as knowledgable but put forth their own fake theories and blame other scientific evidence just because it didn't fit their personal protocols. They are not medical doctors but pose as experts in cancer field. One should be aware of such people.I didn't even mention the doctor's name I was talking about in the list just cos I didn't want to make it appear as publicity or something.I have mailed you privately. If you feel like proceeding further you may do it. I just wanted to help you. I know how it feels like when fighting with your own father's cancer. Best, Dr.Kumar wrote: Medicine has become so polarized over the past two hundred years, that I am often skeptical of those with an " integrative " practice, but this is perhaps unfair of me as I tend to be skeptical of anyone who treats chronic disease no matter their philosophy or training. An integrative practice sometimes leaves me puzzled -- like saying one is trained both as a rabbi and as an imam to better serve the total spiritual needs of an individual. One has to look for qualifications beyond the pats on the head from one's indoctrinators. I think the real qualifications are intelligence, curiosity, compassion, focus, open-mindedness, willingness to spend time with the patient, and a disdain for money beyond their needs. Yes, and someone who is very modest about their halo. Rakhee, you might have your father meet or call the clinician suggested and ask him if he knows of a good resource in Pune. Your father is going to need a lot of attention. If a situation is likely to turn acute you want local help even if it isn't your first choice. Of course the question is moot if your father has the financial resources to relocate to South India for a couple of months. I would think that India would have many very good, but unheralded clinics and clinicians. Guest guest
Hello , Thank you so much for your guidance. It is not unfair of you to be skeptical, this is what we are experiencing, we cannot trust easily anyone if we are going through tough phase. People out there are preying on the desperation of such people. The most sad part is sometimes human beings can stoop so low that they want to suck money out of people who are fighting for their or their loved ones lives ! But we all know that and we all have to be careful. I agree with you that along with the qualifications we need the right attitude, compassion and selflessness. Someone who is offering you help honestly, not just because they will make some business. I am not sure which doctor in India will have experience with these therapies. And until I know for sure, I can't go to anyone. Thanks again for all your help. Hope to talk to you soon. Best Regards, Rakhee > Medicine has become so polarized over the past two hundred years, > that I am often skeptical of those with an " integrative " practice, > but this is perhaps unfair of me as I tend to be skeptical of anyone
