Guest guest
For those of you who may have these problems, I've found some interesting info on an IBS site: >I had my gall bladder removed in 1976 and from that time on I had suffered urgent attacks of DIARRHEA. Went through a lot of test but nothing else could be found. I took many of the meds for bowel spasms and cramps over the years but nothing ever seemed to help. I started to take a calcium supplement to help prevent bone loss in later years and from the first day I felt relief. I was pretty much a prisoner to the bathroom or had to go without eating to be able to leave the house. I must take 1 tablet with each meal and the DIARRHEA does not come back if I miss taking it I get DIARRHEA. The way it works is the calcium carbonate it a binder and when you take it only about 40% of the calcium gets to the bones and the rest is gotten rid of in our waste. During the process it gets to the intestines and soaks up excess bile and water and helps give a more solid BM. Now that you have no gall bladder the bile fluid goes directly into the intestines and causes irritation and DIARRHEA. The calcium carbonate soaks this up and no more DIARRHEA. It works great for a lot of us and you just have to take the calcium regularly and >do not miss. http://www.ibsgroup.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic & f=42 & t=000001
Guest guest
Hi , Probiotics cleared up my son's two year chronic diahrreah in a matter of days. This is not true for everyone but for many it is. You didn't mention probiotics, is your son on probios? We used Klaire Ther-biotics, Bio-Kult, and BioCare Bio-Acidophilus but there are many others that are very good as well. All the best, Darla My son (19 yo, autism) has been on enzymes for about 5 months. For the last 2 years he has had extreme diarrhea requiring him to use disposable underwear though previously toilet trained and tending toward constipation. After some biomedical interventions the diarrhea developed. We have tried many things to treat it. There have been a few very brief periods of improvement (3-7 days). We do not know why. Last week I experimented and gave him ibuprofen regularly for a week. We saw an improvement but only half as much. I did this to see if inflammation was the culprit. From this I would guess it has some part. I really thought the enzymes (HN- Zyme Prime, Peptizyde, and No-Fenol, 1/meal) would take care of this. We have seen an improvement in disposition but not the diarrhea. Any suggestions? Do I need to increase enzymes/meal? Should I use Aloe Vera to calm the gut, and if so what type? Could it be viral(bacterial/to calm th are giving 5 drops GSE, 2 Houston OLE capsules 3 x/day. Also he has some mood swings. Thanks,

After some biomedical interventions the diarrhea developed. Might be certain foods he is eating now, that the enzymes are not addressing. What does he eat? B vitamin deficiency, especially B12, can cause diarrhea. So can zinc deficiency. Yeast and/or bacteria overgrowth can cause diarrhea. > I really thought the enzymes (HN- Zyme Prime, Peptizyde, and No-Fenol, > 1/meal) would take care of this. Try switching to SCD version Zyme Prime and AFP Peptizyde. Maybe he is not tolerating papain/bromelain. Also, do you give enzymes with his snacks? > Any suggestions? Do I need to increase enzymes/meal? Should I use Aloe Vera > to calm the gut, I have read several success stories with aloe vera, so definitely something to consider. >> and if so what type?
