Guest guest
The thyroid panel is going to be difficult to get basically because most MDs do not know how to read them and are taught they aren't necessary. Diagnosing thyroid disorders takes results from a multitude of tests. Standard test is TSH and T4. The full panel is TSH, T4, Free T4, Free T3, antibody tests, and I'm not sure what else. When someone is having thyroid problems, it effects their entire body, and that will include the digestive system. However, my IBS went away when I changed my diet and had nothing to do with my thyroid. So, you have to look at all avenues when diagnosing problems in the body. But all of us here already know that. ar On Sun, 10 Feb 2008 19:04:42 EST, szukipoo@... said: > > > > > The following came from a list I am on...I am now concerned about the > > relationship between my thyroid and my IBD and insulin resistance. Guest guest
IBS/IBD are the same but spastic means an area of the colon that is very small and goes into spasms. IBS stands irritable bowel syndrome or disease (IBD) which is the same as ulcerative colitis. An upset stomach is not the same as an ulcerated stomach. You can have both IBS and a spastic place, I too had that once. Hope this helps to clear this up. " Arlyn Grant " wrote: It's my understanding that a spastic colon and IBS are the same thing.
