Guest guest
Hi , Don't ever worry about rambling on. I'm always glad to see a message here from you, with an update on Skyler's situation. I like when people keep in touch. Some of my favorite messages to read are those heart-felt ones that go and on and touch on lots of different issues. Just people sorting through their feelings by writing it all down. They've actually proven that writing about these kinds of health concerns is good, psychologically, for us. I do wish I could be of more help. We were put in touch with Shriner's by our pediatrician because there are no pediatric rhuematologists where we live. They have a great orthopedic facility on the island of Oahu. In many locations the focus is on burn treatments, so we are very lucky to have them just a plane ride away. What happened with the paperwork from your local Shriner's Hospital? Did I miss something about that? What else do you need before you can have Skyler examined there? Which meds exactly, and at what doses, is your son currently taking and not responding too? My son Josh was a non-responder, too. For a really long time. We had to keep upping doses and adding on other drugs before we saw a change. I used to be where you are right now. Wondering why everybody else's child was able to get over this, or do so much better, while my son continued in a steady, unrelenting course of illness. Very severe onset and disease course. I was always happy to hear good news from others but it was as if we were stuck in some other category, where nopthing we did made any difference in his level of well-being. Very discouraging! But .... things suddenly got lots easier for us. All of a sudden, he started doing better. So I know that there is still hope for Skyler. Don't give up. When you feel that discouragement, write to us. Share your feelings. Let us offer some support and encouragement, okay? Well, before I start to ramble on myself, I'll say goodbye for now. Write soon to let us know what's going on, okay? Much Aloha, Georgina > " V. Guest guest
Oops! See that, While I 'rambled on' in my previous note, I completely forgot to mention that: no. We haven't tried that nutritional product called Reliv. I haven't heard anything about it as of yet, either good or bad. Perhaps it is also known by other names? Maybe others here are familair with it. What is it made of and what does it claim to do? ~Georgina > > " V. Guest guest
I have pharyngitis. I was in the health foods store yesterday and besides getting a mega vitamin C supplement (you mix it with water), I asked the nutritionist (she has an M.S. in nutrition, and works there) what else I could do. She suggested this product, which I bought. It's a spray of silver, named Sovereign Silver. The page says it's not colloidal, because it's real silver. Silver has a history as an anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal. If you've tried it in the past, please let me know your results. The website explains why this product is superior. http://sovereignsilver.info/index.php. Now, silver supplements have their champions and their detractors. To be fair, here are both sides of the story. First the champions: http://www.all-natural.com/silver-1.html Now, the detractors: http://nccam.nih.gov/health/alerts/silver/index.htm Please let me know your experience with silver. Thanks, Ellen
Guest guest
The statement on the bottle is misleading. Technically, a colloid refers to particles equally suspended in a solution. The particles may be ions, atoms, or molecules. There is a lot of misuse of the terminology in the marketing of silver solutions. If the stuff is properly made and you are not drinking absurd amounts of it, then it is perfectly safe and, quite often, effective. Even if it were poorly made, in the amounts you would be using in a throat spray, it would be safe. Mik Ellen wrote: > > I have pharyngitis.
