Guest guest
Potassium iodide Side Effects | Drugs.com - long lists of pretty severe reactions - includes Hyper and Hypo thyroidism in some people, and goiter. <http://www.drugs.com/sfx/potassium-iodide-side-effects.html> Side Effects of Taking Kelp Supplements | eHow.com - they appear to be mild allergic reactions - not the long-term side effects mentioned above. KELP and Sea Veggies ABSORB the radiation and carry it off. <http://www.ehow.com/about_5268293_side-effects-taking-kelp-supplements.html > Can we overdose on kelp? at Iodine Support & Discussion: Seaweed, Kelp, Lugols etc. (MessageID: 1429171) - YES, but it appears the danger is in the arsenic and pesticides from the kelp growing process, and not the kelp itself - UNLESS we take much more than recommended. <http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1429171> EXCERPT from CDC page below - " Adults: Adults older than 40 years should not take KI unless public health or emergency management officials say that contamination with a very large dose of radioactive iodine is expected. Adults older than 40 years have the lowest chance of developing thyroid cancer or thyroid injury after contamination with radioactive iodine. Guest guest
I think the vast majority of cancer patients benefit from taking iodine, and I think potassium iodide (e.g., Lugol's) is the best form. The following 2 Hoxsey formulas also contain potassium iodide: www.herbalist-alchemist.com/Products/Formulas/Alterative Compound.htm " Red Clover-Burdock " by www.eclecticherb.com/store.html My impression is that Hoxsey's somewhat effective w/almost all cancers and particularly effective w/melanoma, leukemia, lymphoma, and pancreatic cancer, glioma & astrocytoma. Guest guest
Lugol's is not potassium iodide. SSKI is potassium iodide. There are some available on Ebay but it is getting scarce and expensive. Lugol's is Iodine and Potassium Iodide. www.optimox.com has a pill form of Lugol's called Iodoral. It is available from many sources. Lugol's liquid in 5% solution and bottles more then 2 oz require a prescription. It is more difficult to find but can be purchased on eBay, amazon.com and J Crows. It is more difficult to find after the Japanese incident.
