Hello, I can't think of a way to tell you to do it unless you set some time aside to do it. I have about the same problem also because of my work, plus I keep the Sabbath. So that basically leaves me Sunday. However, it's not really that hard. I work from home, so even though I fast part of the day as in Dr. 's cleanse, I still have energy and am not really tired until about 6:00 p.m. or so. And the next day I'm only weak half a day. That's always been what happens to me. If you could give up at least one of your weekends, say, Sat., prepare for your cleanse and take half a day on Sun., you'll probably be all right. Or maybe even take a vacation day or something like that. Be sure not to push yourself physically on the day of the cleanse and help yourself mentally relax. Let me give you a tip. I know that not all things work the same for everyone, so you have to find out from your body what you need to do. You can alter the cleanse some. I have a very good friend who is a R.N. She did advise me to add more water to my Epsom Salts because of the danger of dehydrating. She said that ES does dehydrate people sometime and you don't want to mess up your electrolyte balance. So I add a half cup more water to my ES doses at 6:00 and at 8:00 p.m. Plus, I make darn sure that I'm very hydrated before I even start the cleanse. Next, to my olive oil/grapefruit mixture, I add 1/4 cup of organic apple juice plus a little fresh-pressed ginger root. Ginger cuts the nausea, it really does, and it's beneficial as a cleanser to your liver. In Dr. ' cleanse, he advises if you have nausea, to add a drop or two (don't do more, it's too strong) of peppermint oil. I do that also. A little of that stuff goes a very, very long way. Here is what I've found out for me. I do the ES at 6:00 and 8:00 the previous night. But if I do the ES in the morning, then I'm too terribly weak. So in the morning instead of ES, I use Citrate of Magnesium liquid that you can buy from the grocery or the drug store. It doesn't weaken me no where near the ES. For some reason the ES does me this way in the morning after the cleanse. Now, some people use Magnesium Citrate anyway because they can't stand the ES. They both make you poop like crazy. But I personally think that the ES works the best FOR ME in the afternoon. This has been my experience. Before I did my first cleanse, I was totally scared to death. But some people in this forum really did give me support. One was Dale . That's been a couple of years ago, actually. I was scared that I would be in a bunch of pain, get a stone stuck, etc. Nothing like that happened at all. I only lightly felt little trails of things like little flutters or something around my GB area, perhaps stones moving. But absolutely no pain at all. One important measure to take, please get you some organic apple juice from the health food store. Drink at least 1 quart daily for about 5 days. This is listed in Dr. Cabot's Healthy Liver & Bowel Book. The acid in the apple juice helps these stones soften up for easier passing. Also, a day or two before the cleanse, take an enema. Make sure you're cleaned out and drink lots of water during the day, every day, sipping on it throughout the day, maybe 8 to 12 glasses. I'd go on the high side of that. Eat very healthy during that week. I followed this and it went well for me. Like I said, everyone is different. You can modify any cleanse to suit you. Hope it all goes well with you. Take care, Susie
Guest guest
Hi Jackie, Welcome to the list and you've come to the right place for help. At the bottom of every post to this list is this link: Liver Cleanse Recipe: http://www.CureZone.com/cleanse/liver/ Scrolling down on that page is a link to the flush I use and can recommend due to the minimum down time required with this flush. Here's what it says about the link to which I refer: " Dr. Hulda 's " Liver Cleanse and Gallbladder Flush Recipe - this recipe is the most popular because it is one of the best of all liver flush recipes (for majority of people) - tens of thousands have done this flush with no problems, most likely this recipe evolved from the recipe given by Kelley 20 years ago " ! You definitely need one free day when you try this flush. The day before your free day (such as a normal work day before your off-day) you start the no fat day, fast after a certain time, take the epsom salts that evening, drink the oil grapefruit juice that night, etc. - none of which would stop you from performing a normal work day that day. The next day is different however. You say you are on the run on the weekends? You will be on the run in a different way the day after this flush. You'll have to stay close to a toilet because of the toxin and stone removing diarrhea that you'll have, but it's so well worth it that you won't worry about all the things you haven't been able to do. This is especially due to how much better you'll feel. By that evening you will probably be ok to get further from the restroom. I know your concern about not having much free time. I have that problem too. I do the flushes when I can, and it's not nearly every two weeks. Guest guest
Jackie, Welcome to the group. The flush is worth doing. Perhaps you could arrange your weekend duties so that you could stay at home for the day after the flush (that is the day after you took your oil/grapefruit drink). I, myself, am still able to do things on the day after the flush, but you do need to be near the toilet due to frequency of BM's (or runs). And yes, I also find it good to drink plenty of liquids priorto the flush. I even drink up to 1/2hour before each Epsom Salt drink. That seems to leave you less weak. Is your health not important enough to do this? It can make such a big difference to your health. Also, remember that gallstone attacks are often associated with stress; so a " down " day is also good for health in more ways than one! In the meantime, do some research regarding diet and you may also fimd this helpful. Ex. Start your day with a drink of lemon juice and warm water. This will slowly disolve your stones and help to clean out your system. This is actually more of a maintenance tip (due to its slow working), but is better than nothing. Look in the Group's Links section to find more diet ideas. ~Suzanne
