Guest guest
I cannot answer the primary question about The Blood Barrier issue but I can say the following with the backing of most members of this list...........I think. That is, getting others to do what we want when they are Conventionally oriented is very discouraging because they rarely change this position and if they do, it is often because they are told, " there is no more we can do for you " . When looking up this subject I came across some information regarding the use of certain chemotherapy modalities and it mentions an " improved response " using them. Most of us have learned that the use of the word 'Response' is not directly related to survivability, but is related to tumor shrinkage which both chemotherapy and radiation usually offer. It reminds me of what I said to my Urologist, " I am not interested in Tumor Response but am interested in survivability " and he understood that I knew the game and their terminology so we no longer play word games. Perhaps you need to ask the Oncologist, in front of your husband, " are you looking for a good response using such and such " ? ..........and immediately add, " because I do understand that a shrinkage of the tumor/s do not necessarily relate to longer life. " You need to get him/her to recognize you are knowledgeable. I would then ask him whether or not this treatment is Palliative rather than a Curative attempt? Your husband needs to understand the terminology to understand the limitations of those people in the White Coats or he will continue to blindly follow their advice. Good luck and also, you do need to find someone to work with because this does not seem to be a situation that can be home-schooled so easily. Joe C. Guest guest
Some chemo agents are known to cross, some have been thought not to cross, but later tests show brain cell damage (I have been living with chemo brain, so researched this) that cannot be explained in any way except by some unknown crossing of the barrier. You may want to get the name of the agent and do some online research. You can find a lot of info out there, and get into groups where people who have been on the agent share their experiences. One is: http://www.askapatient.com/rateyourmedicine.htm I hope that helps. It is such a tough decision, the chemo one. Prayers, ~J > > My husband has a stage II Astrocytoma. I know many natural therapies don't cross the blood/brain barrier so I thought why should the chemo? I asked the doctor who would be administering the chemo and she said of coarse it did. I don't believe her and would like some " proof " that it doesn't. Maybe I could convince my husband not to do it if there is some science. > > Can anyone help? > > Thanks! > > >
Guest guest
I suggest Vitamin D3 as well in the megadose range. Visit Mercola.com and Blaylock.com. If you do Chemo coffee enemas are critical to detox. Get a doctor to blood test for D and for Iodine, as well. Organic food too. Food in the US has bromine in it to block the Iodine receptors. It is illegal in Canada. Veg/Fruit start with a " 9 " on the sticker. All else should be avoided.
Guest guest
The budwig protocol is believed to cross the blood brain barrier. Try googling Budwig and joining the flaxoil2@groups for more info. I have a brain tumour and decided to follow this protocol which has an excellent success rate. Guest guest
I can't help. All I can say is I am sorry you have to go through this. My mother is starting radiation today. Chemo soon is she can gain enough weight and get stronger. She barely took the stuff I gave her and of course the dr wants her to stop (not a big deal since she barely took it anyway) eat all the shakes you want. Even my BIL asked what sense that makes. Not to take something that can help strengthen her but eat sugar and feed the cancer Cheri > > My husband has a stage II Astrocytoma. He's had two surgerys, the last one about a month ago. Guest guest
N-tense from rain-tree.com has been used for brain tumors with much success. Rain-tree herbs are from the Amazon, organic and processed for maximum potentcy. This is perhaps the least expensive route to take. I am not connected with any company; just a cancer survivor from 2002 who refused all conventional methods and went all natural. You can also call raintree, if you have questions--great herbalists. Guest guest
Thanks everyone for your suggestions and advice! Unfortunately, I've been trying for two years to get my husband to follow the natural route. It's been a constant source of fights and a lot of stress for me. I do cook only organic foods and juice for him when I can get fresh organic greens, but I have to do it. He won't do anything on his own. I had someone write to me about polymva. I've heard of that and I may order it and just tell him to take it. He doesn't need to know anything about it. I'll just say its a new vitamin. I'm really doing the best I can. I have two teenagers I'm trying to raise as well. I feel like I have three kids! Sorry for the vent! I do appreciate your suggestions.
