Guest guest
Oops forgot the chaparrel Personally I am lazy. I use 2 ounces of herbs mix with 6 cups water. Freeze once when done simmering and I usually get about 12 ounces. Apollo uses it for other things (mainly as an immune booster for mange) I could not wash him over the winter and he was going bald. This helped him grow his hair back for tonic : graviola and chaparral: get two pounds each and order from herbalcom.com they cost $10 and $6 a pound last time i ordered and shipping is (with postal changes) about $7 per order. get 2 pounds of neem at mountain rose herbal for about $10 a pound. shipping will probably cost about $10, it varies. the last thing you need is a pound of andrographis. this will cost about $17 pounds from 1stchinese herbs. shipping may be $9. if you spend $40 (amount changes with postage changes) shipping is free. so check if you need anything else and get it there. Preparation of tonic: You put 1 0z of the herb powder in 4 cups of water in a double boiler ( or do as I do, put a pot inside another pot)...and once it boils gently simmer for 20 minutes. Let it cool overnight Next day, I put a paper towel in a sieve and strain the liquid into a square Pyrex dish ( or plastic...I prefer glass) It doesn't matter if sediment gets in....just makes it taste more bitter. Put square container in the freezer allowing the outside edges of tonic to freeze, pour off elixir, ( I save the ice and give it to other animals that I think could benefit from it). Continue on with the freezing method till you have 6 ounces of elixir. I store it in a canning jar in the refrigerator.
