Guest guest
Last night, some of the Presidential candidates were asked about health care and insurance in this country. Only one of them said anything about how health care in this country is almost completely geared toward treating catastrophic illness. Only that one candidate mentioned the concept of preventive health care, of taking responsibility for one's own health, and how those things could be a factor in lowering health care costs. The rest of the candidates appeared to still be under the illusion that we in this country have the best health care available. Interestingly, that candidate was not Ron . It was Mike Huckabee, someone who not long ago went from being exceptionally obese down to normal weight. I expect it's close to impossible for someone to lose that much weight and to keep it off, without learning something along the way about real health. This is not meant to be an endorsement of any particular candidate. It is more a sad statement that those who would lead our country are still under the illusion that health care in the USA is wonderful, and that all we have to do is make insurance cheaper so that more people can be covered by it. Best wishes, Elliot
