Brain Tumors - Does Chemo Cross Blood Brain Barrier?

My husband has a stage II Astrocytoma. He's had two surgerys, the last one

about a month ago. The biopsy showed tumor agression. They are calling it

almost a stage III. The doctors want to begin chemo and radiation (which he

hasn't had to this date.)

I am totally against this but my husband won't listen. I am for natural

approaches only but my husband believes in the science. I have tried for two

years to convince him but haven't had any luck. So..I have to sit back and

watch as he poisons himself.

I don't understand the point of chemo. The tumor is in his brain only so why

poison the entire body? I know many natural therapies don't cross the

blood/brain barrier so I thought why should the chemo? I asked the doctor who

would be administering the chemo and she said of coarse it did. I don't believe

her and would like some " proof " that it doesn't. Maybe I could convince my

husband not to do it if there is some science.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!
