Guest guest
I'm reading this stuff from the Immunocal web page: ----------------------------------------------------------------- Immunocal/HMS 90 is a patented, highly concentrated, whey protein isolate, which provides a good source of cysteine, an important cell nutrient. The critical role of cysteine in the body is well documented. Dietary sources of cysteine are limited and Immunocal/HMS 90 is the ideal cysteine delivery system. Immunocal/HMS 90 contains less than 1% fat and lactose, making it both suitable and desirable for all, even the most lactose- intolerant. This highly refined, premium quality protein powder is packaged in individually sealed foil pouches to ensure purity and freshness. --------------------------------------------------------------------- In all due respect, TradeWinds, (and you are a nice guy), I don't really see anything different here from what I get from Costco for about $10 a pound. (about $45 for a 2 kilo can). That stuff, too, is highly concentrated cold microfiltered whey protein isolate. That stuff too is a good source of cysteine. That stuff too contains less than 1% fat and lactose. So what's the deal? And why is the Immunotec website 90% MLM stuff, and only 10% product information? Again, in all due respect, until I see some actual numbers pointing out how and why Immunocal is better than any other high quality whey product, I'm going with the much cheaper route. And at 5x the price, I would expect Immunocal to be 5x more potent too. ------------------------------ There is a product that is widely marketed in Canada, called ColdFX, which is just now entering the US: http://www.coldfx.com/ It is supposed to stop colds dead in their tracks. However, if you manage to take the time to read the label, you will find that ColdFX has one ingredient. Just one ingredient: Ginseng. Period. But ColdFX is 5x more expensive than any other ginseng product. Why? No good reason. No good reason whatsoever. But I suspect that the same situation is going on with it as with Immunocal -- just a lot of marketing hype.
