Guest guest
The most important aspect of Hypnotism is that one can be taught to attain the same state of relaxation themselves using simple methods enhanced by the openness to suggestions of a professional. Actually all hypnosis is 'self-hypnosis' simply aided by the Hypnotist and requires the cooperation of the subject who psychologically wants to please the Hypnotist. There is nothing paranormal.......or spiritual about it. This is what my training taught me. Joe C. From: robert-blau@... Hypnosis and Cancer While hypnotherapy can't combat cancer itself, studies show that this mind-body therapy may offer a host of benefits for people struggling with cancer . . . http://altmedicine.about.com/od/cance1/a/hypnosis_cancer.htm?nl=
Guest guest
Is there a good dvd we can buy on this or do we need to find a practictioner? I dont know where to find a good one,. Thanks, Robyn
Guest guest
Robin: I suspect that you could find a CD somewhere. You don't need visual (the swinging medal or spinning wheel) you need spoken words that you can listen to and follow as they are said. It's rather easy and if it is just learning to relax and or fall asleep quickly that would be easy. I imagine working with pain might take specific effort and someone that has worked with that. I have never researched where one might find such an item but you have perked my interest. There was a time I had someone's words but alas, no longer. Start Googling. Joe C. Guest guest
I taught myself self-hypnosis years ago to quit smoking and for insomnia and it worked excellent. I use it now to try to boost my immune system. I put in a suggestion that my immune system was on a dial and that I turned it up everytime I did deep breathing (which I do several times a day). You can find advice on how to do it on-line but just so you know it takes practice. You need to do it everyday for at least a week to get it down and to work well. That's in my experiance at least. Some people vary. It took me about two weeks for it to work super quick for insomnia. I got it down where I could do some relaxation techniques and then count down from 10 and be asleep by 5. I added the suggestion that I wouldn't crave ciggs anymore and it worked so quick. I had not been smoking all that long though! The practice of hypnosis is quite basic it just takes practice. --- In , " JoeCastron " Robin: I suspect that you could find a CD somewhere.
