Guest guest
Yes but fibre doesn't work as quickly. It'll travel through you at a normal rate whereas, when you're doing the liver flush, you want the laxative to remove toxins expelled from the liver quickly, before they are reabsorbed. It's more about speed for the liver flush. --------->Den, my understanding is that fiber (at least, *insoluble* fiber) does indeed reduce transit time. i picture little insolube pieces sweeping other components of chyme along and preventing their absorption, thus speeding up the process. so it wouldn't necessarily be 'normal' speed, but faster. but perhaps a laxative would be even faster. Guest guest
Hi Suze Yes I agree. Fibre speeds up your normal transit time and helps to removes toxins and debis from your GI, (I use it regualrly for this too) but the laxative in the specific case of the liver detox is to get that stuff out of there as quickly as possible to prevent reabsorbtion in the gut. The info I read on this was very specific about it and about not trying the liver detox without the laxative. I think if you used fibre instead of the laxative you'd increase the time the toxins were in the GI, because even if it's faster than normal transit time it's still a lot slower than a laxative, and therefore you'll absorb more toxins back into the blood stream and from there back into the liver. As I understand it fibre is good for doing long term cleansing of the GI over a period of a month or even longer or at regualr intervals, but I wouldn't use it instead of the laxative for the sort of 'emergency' evacuation that the liver detox is calling for. I'd hate to think I drank all that olive oil etc only to reabsorb those toxins I'd just suffered to get rid off! Yeesh! <BG> Den > --------->Den, my understanding is that fiber (at least, *insoluble* fiber) > does indeed reduce transit time. i picture little insolube pieces sweeping > other components of chyme along and preventing their absorption, thus > speeding up the process. so it wouldn't necessarily be 'normal' speed, but > faster. but perhaps a laxative would be even faster. > > Suze Fisher
Guest guest
Hi Den, I did the Hulda liver detox yesterday/last night and let me tell you, if you decide to do this you will be amazed. I got out lots of green stones. I have known about this for years, in fact I met Hulda about 8 years ago. I now know I was wrong to listen to those who said it was not safe or that it was going to be horrendously painful. Oh well, one of these days I will learn. I did all she said, detoxed my colon, kidneys and did a parasite cleanse first. I also own a Royal Rife Frequency machine that kills the " bad " bacteria. So I prepped for almost a week. Also because I do all these things on a regular basis I did not think I needed to do the liver cleanse (wrong again). There was almost no discomfort. For the most part it was very painless, just a bit of diarrhea and headache. Most people said the olive oil with grapefruit would be horrible to gag down. I got a pink grapefruit, squeezed in 1/2 of a large lemon, poured in a little more than 1/2 cup of the really good, and fragrant virgin olive oil that came from the first press. It was actually kind of good! The Epson salt is the worst tasting, but I did not dissolve it in water. I took it in its crystal form like I would a vitamin, and washed it down with plenty of water. BTW, fiber would NOT be appropriate for a liver cleanse. You want to get these things dislodged from liver and gall bladder and out of your system ASAP! All in all I am very pleased with this, and plan to do as her book (A Cure For All Diseases) suggests and repeat every 2 weeks until I feel clear. Take care! Guest guest
I am glad to hear it. As I said in a post a while back, I always considered them a positive experience although they were somewhat difficult for me. I just hesitiate to recommend them too strongly because of the stories of how bad they were for some people. I haven't done one in some time because I just had a baby. I didn't think it was good to do while pregnant. But as soon as I stop nursing I will do them again. Guest guest
Hi Kat, I am glad you had a positive experience. I wish I could say the same. My doctor was surprised I got so ill. Do you know why some people get ill with the detox and others do not? I thought this informaton might be in Hulda 's book. Are the green stones really stones or clumps of cholesterol? I thought the stones were a different color than green. Thanks, Sheila > Hi Den, > > I did the Hulda liver detox yesterday/last night and let me tell you, > if you decide to do this you will be amazed. Guest guest
Hi Irene, You were right not to do a liver detox while pregnant and when you are nursing because all the toxins can be passed on to your baby. Also, if you do decide to do another cleanse, DO ALL HULDA suggests...do the kidney cleanse and the parasite cleanse first. If you did not, this may well be why you had such a rough time before. If you do not do the parasite cleanse, the parasites block the ducts and the stones cannot be removed (painful). The parasites hold on like a tick, and the cleanse does not dislodge them, we must kill them first. Also, when you do the kidney cleanse first, the kidneys are clear to support the detoxification of all these putrid waste materials. Hulda outlines everything in her book, and has much more information than any I have found on the net. HULDA STATES OVER AND OVER THAT WE NEED TO KILL ALL PARASITES BEFORE WE DO A LIVER CLEANSE. THESE PARASITES HANG ON LIKE A TICK, THEY BURROW IN, AND LIVE IN THE DUCTS WHERE YOU ARE TRYING TO EXPELL THE STONES. THE STONES CAN'T GET OUT, THE PRESSURE BUILDS UP, AND I WOULD GUESS THAT IS WHY YOU GOT SO ILL. SOUNDS HORRIBLE! > Are the green stones really stones or clumps of cholesterol? THE STONES ARE BIG.....BIGGER THAN PEAS (WHICH MEANS THE DUCTS MUST BE A LOT BIGGER THAN I THOUGHT!) AND THEY ARE INDEED VERY GREEN. SOME ARE ALMOST A NEON COLOR. HEALTHY PEOPLE, AND EVEN SOME CHILDREN, HAVE THOUSANDS AND THOUANDS OF THESE STONES. WHEN WE GET ILL WE HAVE MANY MORE. ACCORDING TO HULDA, ONLY A SMALL PERCENTAGE WILL BE RELEASED ON EACH LIVER CLEANSE. THAT WE NEED TO CLEANSE EVERY 2 WEEKS (UNLESS WE ARE VERY ILL, PREGNANT, OR NURSING) FOR A MINIMUM OF 6 TIMES. ONLY THEN DO WE GET THE FULL BENEFIT. THEN THIS SHOULD BE REPEATED EVERY 6 MONTHS. I AM SO GRATEFUL I TOOK ALL THE STEPS AND THAT THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS AND THAT I DID NOT FIND THE DRINKS HORRIBLE (I ACTUALLY KIND OF LIKED IT!). I PLAN TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS AND TO REPEAT THIS EVERY 2 WEEKS FOR A MINIMUM OF 6 TIMES. Guest guest
Could it be that if you're a protein type as Wolcott explains in Metabolic Typing Diet that the magnesium in the epsom salts gives a worsening effect? Example given is a standardized osteoporosis protocol and the effects better or worse on the metabolic systems of the individual mineral ingredients. Worsening effect is shown for both fast oxidizers and parasympathetic dominants on magnesium, which protein types are one or the other. Guest guest
HI MARY, >>Does she talk about why we get the stones? when you say healthy people,do you mean people with no symptoms? MOST PEOPLE HAVE NO SYMPTOMS THAT THEY WOULD RECOGNIZE AS GALLSTONES. SOME OF THE SYMPTOMS ARE ALLERGIES, ENVIRONMENTAL SENSITIVITY, PAIN IN THE GUT, PAIN IN THE UPPER BACK, MUSCLE PAIN, CONSTIPATION, ETC. WHEN THE BILE DUCTS ARE BLOCKED, PRESSURE BUILD UP SO THERE ARE PAINS FROM THAT. THEN THE BILE THAT IS NEEDED IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE SO THE INTESTINES ARE NOT ALKALINIZED, AND FAT IS NOT DIGESTED. THAT IS WHY SOME PEOPLE HAVE PROBLEMS WITH EATING FATS OR FRIED FOODS. *MOST DOCTORS REFER TO THESE STONES AS GALLSTONES, BUT PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD THEIR GALL STONES REMOVED HAVE DONE THIS CLEANSE AND GOTTEN RID OF STONES. THIS SUGGESTS THAT THEY ORIGINATE IN THE LIVER. I'm assuming these stones are not a healthy thing to have and are a storage place the body has to clean up toxins perhaps? NOT HEALTHY TO SAY THE LEAST! SHE SAYS THAT INSIDE EACH ONE OF THE THOUSANDS OF STONES IS A VERY UNFRIENDLY BACTERIA OR PARASITE. I'll probably get her book but just curious if she goes into etiology, etc. THEY HAVE IT AT MOST BOOK STORES. SHE IS ALSO THE INVENTOR OF THE ZAPPER, WHICH IS USED TO KILL PARASITES. ALL THIS IS IN HER BOOK. Also does she talk about what you can do to not get them or do you just have to do this liver cleanse every 6 months because they keep coming back? VARIATIONS OF THE LIVER CLEANSE CAN BE FOUND IN ANCIENT MANUSCRIPTS DATING BACK A FEW THOUSAND YEARS. IT IS NOT NEW, SO I GUESS MAN HAS HAD THESE PROBLEMS SINCE THE BEGINNING! I LIKE HULDA'S METHOD BEST OF ALL THE ONES I HAVE STUDIED. IT SEEMS TO COVER ALL THE BASES. SHE DOES RECOMMEND THAT AFTER DOING THE L.C. A MINIMUM OF 6 TIMES, YOU MAKE A HABIT OF CLEANSING EVERY 6 MONTHS. Guest guest
Hi Kat, I was checked several times(stool analysis) for parasites and none were found. They are hard to find. I think it must have been some other problem. I will have to look at 's book. Are there photos of the parasites she states are inside the green deposits. Where do they come from? Could one of those stones be pushed into a major duct and cause blockage. Maybe if all 's steps are carefully followed this would be less apt to happen, but becase I was so ill I am still leery. Thanks for your replies and continued success with those flushes. Sheila > HI SHEILA, > > > > Hi Kat, > > I am glad you had a positive experience. Guest guest
I have done them both ways with a parasite/kidney cleanse first and without and haven't seen any significant difference. Each one gets easier. The biggest problem that I have is hypoglycemia and the no fat day with evening fast is a bit difficult. But only the first few were really hard. Although I never threw up or anything and only got nauseous a few times. irene At 01:52 PM 8/29/02, you wrote: >Hi Irene, > >You were right not to do a liver detox while pregnant and when you are >nursing because all the toxins can be passed on to your baby. > >Also, if you do decide to do another cleanse, DO ALL HULDA suggests...do the >kidney cleanse and the parasite cleanse first. Guest guest
I am not so sure the little green things are really " Liver stones " . Once I did a cleanse and got lazy and didn't do the epsom salts the following day. I got a " stone " the size of a walnut. I really dont think that came out of my liver. I suspect that is saponified oil and I suspect the small stones are also saponified oil. However I still believe that the cleanse helps detoxify the liver and makes people feel better. I always feel better after doing one. I just dont' believe the stuff about the stones being gall stones. Guest guest
Maybe the name " stone " is really incorrect? A stone would, I think, have to be composed of minerals. Those little and sometinmes not so little, stone shaped, green deposits are apparently not made of minerals. Are they? What is a saponified fat? Would this be any fat you are eating in your diet? Guest guest
I dont' know what actual gallstones are composed of. I suppose that is not hard to find out. Regardless, the theory is that the little green things come out of your liver and gall bladder through the bile duct. I don't really believe that is so. Saponification is the process by which an oil or fat turns into a " soap " like substance. Kind of hard and waxy. My guess is that the bile and oil and citrus or maybe the epsom salts somehow combine to make this happen. It doesn't really matter to me. I think that regardless whether little stones come out of the liver or not, the flushes seem to be very beneficial so I do them. I do believe that toxins are being flushed out. Whether or not counting stones is useful or not I don't know but it doesn't hurt. Irene At 10:21 PM 8/29/02, you wrote: >Maybe the name " stone " is really incorrect? Where do they > come from? HULDA'S BOOK COVERS ALL THIS AND MORE. AT FIRST I DISCOUNTED HER BOOK AS A " LITTLE TOO SEVERE " , BUT SHE IS WRITING FOR THE WORST CASE SCENARIO OF PEOPLE WHO ARE TERMINAL. I DON'T PLAN TO ADOPT ALL HER IDEAS, BUT SOME LIKE THE LIVER FLUSH ARE GREAT. I HAVE THE ROYAL RIFE FREQUENCY MACHINE, BUT PLAN TO BUILD ONE OF HER ZAPPERS ALSO. I DOUBT I WOULD BE LOOKING AT MUCH OF THIS IF I DID NOT HAVE HEALTH ISSUES. I AM GOING TO TAKE HER AT HER WORD AND EXPECT MY FOOD AND ENVIRONMENTAL ALLERGIES AND CHEMICAL SENSITIVITIES TO GET BETTER. ONLY TIME WILL TELL, BUT I FEEL I AM OFF TO A GOOD START. ALSO, THIS REMEDY HAS BEEN AROUND FOR A FEW THOUSAND YEARS. SINCE I DID NOT HAVE PROBLEMS WITH IT, I FEEL IT IS A GOOD THING FOR ME TO CONTINUE. PLEASE NOTE THAT EACH PERSON IS DIFFERENT, AND I WAS MAKING SOME SUGGESTIONS AS TO WHY YOU HAD SO MUCH PAIN. I HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING IF THAT IS ACTUALLY WHY. > > Could one of those stones be pushed into a major duct and cause > blockage. YOU HAVE THOUSANDS OF DUCTS IN YOUR LIVER. WHEN YOU BUY LIVER IN THE STORE IT IS STRINGY, THOSE ARE BILE DUCTS. LOOK AT HOW MANY THOUSANDS OF " STRINGS/DUCTS " ARE IN THAT LIVER. IMAGINE IF THEY WERE FILLED WITH STONES. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THOUSANDS OF THESE DUCTS ARE BLOCKED, THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT. THAT IS WHAT CAUSES ILLNESS, AND THAT IS WHY I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS FLUSH....I WORKS TO UNBLOCK THOSE DUCTS. YOU NEED TO CONTINUE THE FLUSHES EVERY TWO WEEKS BECAUSE THE DUCTS WILL ONLY PUSH OUT ONE STONE AT A TIME, AND THERE ARE A LOT MORE THAN ONE STONE IN EACH DUCT. AS YOU PUSH ONE OUT, THE NEXT DROPS DOWN (KIND OF LIKE A BUBBLE GUM MACHINE) SO THAT DUCTS MAY STILL BE BLOCKED. Maybe if all 's steps are carefully followed this > would be less apt to happen, but because I was so ill I am still leery.> ONLY YOU CAN DECIDE, AND DON'T DO ANYTHING UNTIL YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH IT. HULDA SAYS IT MAY BE ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT STEPS TO REGAINING YOUR HEALTH, AND I FEEL SHE MAY BE RIGHT! > Thanks for your replies and continued success with those flushes. > Sheila YOUR WELCOME, AND THANK YOU FOR THE KIND THOUGHTS. Guest guest
Hi Irene, Most of the " stones " are green (from bile), but some are tan, and all are composed primarily of cholesterol. So they are more spongy than hard. Good news is that the softness makes them easier to pass, and the bad news is that it makes them more effective in blocking the ducts. There is much medical controversy about these stones. Many medical doctors will tell you they are gallstones, not found in the liver. However, these flushes have been done by people who have had their gallbladder removed years before, and they still passed " gallstones, " so one can conclude that they are indeed manufactured in the liver. Hulda suggest that they originate in the liver, then drop down to the gallbladder. That is why they are found in the gallbladder. If this is true, where do they go when one has their gallbladder removed? Kind of a scary thought. Maybe those who have done this need the flush even more than everyone else! Guest guest
Well a couple of days ago I went to see an exhibition here in London called Body World. I don't know if you've seen this in the US or not but it's an exhibition of plastinated human bodies, all donated by body donors. I know it sounds gruesome, but actually it was totally fascinating! You could see so much of the human anatomy, including a whole head made up only of the blood vessels!!! It's extrordinary! It makes you really aware of just how complex we are. But to get to the the point, I was looking at one of the exhibits and he has an organ in his hand. It was the liver, and as I looked I saw a small structure attached to the liver that had been opened so you could see inside and it contained a lot of round stones like marbles. Blimey! Well I think I've changed my mind about the liver detox now. Having seen the real thing I really want to cleanse my liver! You can see info on the exhibition here http://www.bodyworlds.co.uk/en/home.asp Not for the fainthearted though. Den

Guest guest
Den: Thanks for sharing that experience. I've been wondering myself and thinking it would be nice to actually see these stones in the liver. Well, obviously they really do exist! Question is, do you think " everyone " has them? Maybe that person had an attrocious diet? Also, thanks for posting the more gentle liver flush in your earlier 8/25 post. (I'm quite behind reading.) Did you try that one? Did you eliminate any stones with the protocol? TIA, Marla ----- Original Message ----- I was looking at one of the exhibits and he has an organ in > his hand. Guest guest
I think we probably all have some to some degree. Haven't tried the gentle flush yet yet. I have been meaning too but I haven't got to it. I guess I'm still reluctant! <G> Den In article <004801c255b9$e3c8e5e0$be7479a5@brianbro>, Marla wrote: > Den: Thanks for sharing that experience. Guest guest
Here is another observation. I did the 2nd liver cleanse within one week, instead of waiting for two, because the pressure built up again. This time is was not as easy as the first, but still not bad. AND, this time I passed a minimum of 500 stones that were anywhere from pea sized down to about 1/2 pea size, with lots of what they call chaff. Now my liver area feels achy like when you do extra exercise and the muscles ache from that. My head feels so much clearer. From all I have read, these stones can be a problems for children on up to adults. Also, the average person here in US has about 2,000. I imagine that the diet has most everything to do with it, genetics may also come into play. I have studied then worked in the alternative health field for over 20 years and have done every type of cleanse you can think of. I have taken herbs to " cleanse " the liver, bowels, kidneys, and blood. I have eaten a very healthy diet for the most part of 10 years, and STILL I had all these stones. My health challenges began when I was about 16, and I am guessing that at that point I must have had quite a few of these stones. It sure feels good to get rid of them!
