Guest guest
Shaman: You point out that there have been a couple of cases where cinnamon oil was linked to carcinomas. This brings to mind the issue of bloodroot and cancer. Many people use bloodroot externally for skin cancers. Some people take it internally for all types of cancer. However, it must be taken with food as it is a powerful gatro-intestinal irritant. But what worries me about bloodroot (as found in TumorX products, and perhaps others) is that bloodroot has been linked to pre-cancerous lesions of the mouth. This evidence is so strong that it was banned from use in mouthwashes, where it was included for awhile due to its anti-bacterial properties. If bloodroot can cause precancerous lesions in the mouth just from swishing it around once or twice a day, what in the world is happening in the guts of people that take it in pill form? (Myself included -- but I had to discontinue it a couple of months ago due to severe GI irritation.) > > > Hi Jim. > It could be the cinnamon. Generally is pretty safe but some people could have some allergy to it. > > Cinnamon, which is the bark of the Cinnamomum zeylanicum tree, contains cinnamic aldehyde, which is an irritant. > > Some people have the symptoms that you describe. You should absolutely quit this habit because with cinnamon chewing gum they found it related ,in a couple of cases, to tongue carcinoma. > > See : > http://article.pubs.nrc-cnrc.gc.ca/ppv/RPViewDoc?_handler_=HandleInitialGet & arti\ cleFile=y07-080.pdf & journal=cjpp & volume=85 >
