Guest guest
If the trophoblastic theory of cancer is accurate, and cancer cells are very much like placenta cells, then why don't abortions and miscarriages cause cancer? What I am saying is this -- the Beard trophoblastic theory of cancer says that the placenta stops growing wildly due to pancreatic enzymes of the fetus at around day 56. But many abortions occur before day 56, which would leave the placenta to expand without control of the fetus' pancreas stopping it. Not to get gross or invoke the whole pro-life or pro-choice debate, but when abortions occur, the fetus is simply removed from the uterus, is it not? Isn't the placenta left behind? And according to Beard's theory (formulated when abortions were probably extremely rare) these trophoblastic cells should then grow unrestrained into cancer.
