I did refer her to Angel's Gate, a wonderful animal hospice. I also wrote to the people I know who run it and asked if they would consider taking in this dog. That's all I can do for her. ************** Vote for your city's best dining and nightlife. City's Best 2008. Guest guest
I wouldn't respond to this posting, Szukipoo. A lot of junk is on Craigslist and shouldn't be trusted. For all we know, this woman wants to know how to kill someone's dog. Truly, if this posting is true, she could just call the local vet and make arrangements. It all sounds a bit fishy to me. It also makes me angry because it sounds as if she wants her dog dead for her own convenience. ar On Thu, 12 Jun 2008 13:09:45 EDT, szukipoo@... said: > I saw this on Craig's list and was wondering if anyone knew of a gentle > effective way that this person could put her dog to sleep at home? > I am Beside Myself > > Reply to: comm-716727820@... > Date: 2008-06-11, 9:03PM > > My family is dependent on someone else for our financial well-being, and > that > person is not coming through with a commitment regarding my elderly dog. > I > stupidly sublet my apartment for the summer months counting on this > person to > take my dog to his country house, which he has done many times before. > The > landlady of the place I am going to for the summer does not allow dogs - > besides my > dog wouldn't even be able to walk up those front steps. > My dog has got a few months to live, and I will have to have her put to > sleep > before she is ready because of this situation, and I can't even afford > that. > The thought of having to bring my dog to the shelter at her advanced age > and > in her state is unbearable. > Does anyone know of low-cost euthanasia? Guest guest
Some Vets will make house calls for this, and aren't too expensive. And what then, is the Vet to dispose of her, or is there somewhere suitable for her to be placed? Any pet cemetery's around? -Sorry!! No. But, I have heard some aweful stories about people being hurt by ads they saw on Craigslist. Unfortunately, you just can't trust people you don't know. ar -- Arlyn Grant arlynsg@... I think you did a lot to help, and there isn't any more you can do but take the dog yourself. ar -- Arlyn Grant arlynsg@...
