Guest guest
, May I ask, does SCC stand for squamous cell carcinoma? If so, my husband has the same diagnosis. He was thought, after several months, to be healing, when it unexpectedly reappeared. Or rather, it never went away and is now more advanced. He is on a more aggressive protocol now. I'm trying to research and learn more about the condition and what I can do holistically to help him because I don't have much confidence in the allopathic way. Did you get any biopsies? I am interested in what you wrote and hope that you will continue if and when you are able. It is very good of you to share what you have learned to help others. I would be most interested in anything you would like to share about this condition and what you are doing for yourself. Sanra List, I am heartened that there is interest in these topics. I appreciate it when anyone sends me suggestions of things to write about. My own health is good. There is inflammation from radiation and then there is the occasional spasm that must come from another planet, but my appetite knows no bounds. My therapy is shifting over to one in which I further take advantage of the radiation. I will be testing several things, including some from participants on this list. I am a very motivated guinea pig, but I won't be making any major changes until I get CT results in a month or so. Assessment is very difficult as there are no effective blood tumor markers for SCC and although my cancer is stage 3A nothing is visible or even palpable. You can take it to the bank though that I am going to beat this thing.
Guest guest
, I am sure that everyone in this group is rooting for you and I am sure no one has any doubt that you will beat it. You are so determined and motivated that nothing will stand in your way. As for you post which didn't turn into a discussion, I think it is because we all just read your words of wisdom and it takes time to really take them in and understand them fully. You should not take lack of discussion for lack of interest. I don't think there is anyone in this group that would not want you to continue educating and encouraging everyone else. All the best to you and your family as you go through this difficult time yourself. Nili
Guest guest
Hello Sanra and everyone else on the list, I couple of days ago I was met with silence on the list. I thought perhaps the things that I am saying are too passe and I may only be stating the obvious, but then it seemed that everyone came out of the woodwork and it was like a big surprise party. It was better than a surprise party because it was well wishing from lots of people who know first hand the difficulties that I have been through during the last few months. So many of you have had much harder rows to hoe. How many outsiders know what I mean when I say that I spent six hours just laying on my back, in no pain, but scared to death the pain would start up again if I moved? Anyhow, I am on the road to recovery and with a few minor accommodations (like not crossing the border) I am working full time. I am serious about looking for topics of general interest to write about. I am considering writing about strategies to kick up all therapies, and I also plan to write about arcane methods of assessment. Sanra, I did get a couple of biopsies. When I first saw the lesion on the screen during the sigmoidoscopy I knew by its appearance that it was squamous. A biopsy will not cause any harm in this case. These tumors tend to be friable; everyday movement will cause as much damage as a biopsy. In this case the biopsy provided confirmation and let me know its grade. I will write more on the meds and supplements that I am doing, but many of these things I want to complete first. I don't want others to pattern themselves after my tactics and strategies before I can verify that the plan is actually working. I read in the paper that Karl the head coach of the Denver Nuggets has SCC of the head and neck. Film critic Ebert, too. Poor guys; I don't know which end of the tube is worse. Guest guest
: You are no doubt one of the most positive, intelligent and awesome individuals in this group. When I don't always have time to read all my emails--I ALWAYS read yours. You impressed me when I first met you several years ago for cancer advice and you continue to impress me with your input into this group. Repeat--you are awesome.
