One of the problems is that we have to give thought to the lower concentrations

of Cur cumin in Turmeric because it is but one of the constituents not all of

it. Apparently it is the Curcuminoids that have the desired effect not the

whole herb. However there is apparently benefits in those areas where lots

of Turmeric is used as a spice. ` I wonder how much Turmeric is consumed in

areas that use it in their dishes?

Here is a cheaper way and better for you . 1lb.of turmic add 1oz of ground black

pepper. take a 1/2 tsp. 3X aday. the piperine in black pepper makes the curcumin

more bio-available.

Taking it this way; the cost is fractional of that of capsule .A 10 month supply

will cost about the same as one month supply of capsules . Also you have better

quality control.

Granted the curcumin found in turmeric is lower in concentration than pure

curcumin but this is Big Pharma thinking. Just get one compound and that is all

you need. I think God put plants on the earth as a whole and not as separate

parts and therefore the whole plant works synergestically. Diffferent areas use

different amounts of turmeric and different people in those areas use different

amounts. The answer is: It depends. My teacher( who was a yoga master) told

my wife to make a subji (basicaly a curry made from vegetables) with yogurt

using a tablespoon of turmeric a day.
