Guest guest
A friend of mine who had double mastectomy and hysterectomy is convinced also that it was the hospital treatment that spread it. When she went to them for the needle biopsy, the operator tried 18 (yes eighteen) times to get the right place. When my friend started yelling out " No more! No more! " the woman called for someone else, who calmly took over, went straight to the right spot, and did the biopsy. My friend wanted both breasts off at the same time, but was refused, only to have to have the second breast removed later. She refused chemo and radiation, though I think she took a few tamoxifen, only to wish she hadn't when she researched it. She has done very well considering her age and co-existing arthritis and fibromyalgia; she is in her mid to late seventies. That was a few years ago; she now has a brown " mole " on her chest at the operation site. I think she is going to try black salve on it when things quieten down on her appointment list (or come here away from it all!) The Dr says it needs to be seen to. She has been applying hydrogen peroxide without results. A couple of years ago she had a wart on her finger that didn't go away when she kept cutting it (!) - turned out it was cancer; to cut out all the rest of the story, which I have told before, black salve did the job. Rowena > 1/3, right grade 2/3, both ER/PR responsive with right being highly responsive. Axilla mets in April/08. I was bullied into a needle biopsy at time of dx and blame that for the spread.
