Guest guest
Hi everyone - I'm in the process of researching alternative tx for my husband (age 51). He was diagnosed with ocular melanoma in Feb '11 and was recently treated w/ proton beam radiation which gives 95-97% 5 year survival rate. After 10 years, however, approximately 50% of those in the largest study done on this rare cancer had not survived. I want to do everything I can to help my husband be a survivor. He's really busy w/ work and tired after so I feel it's up to me which is a mighty task. I've gotten a reverse osmosis water filter, am pushing organics only, no sugar, no white flour, lots of raw veggies. I've got him on a bunch of vitamins, his Vitamin D was below normal. He has poor eating habits, in my opinion. He doesn't eat much all day because he's too busy and then eats a bunch at night. Im worried because he's so tired at night. I'm overwhelmed. What are the next steps I should take? Nutritional typing? Naturopath? We don't know if it has spread, haven't done any scans yet, and I know even if you can't see mets they may be there so it seems to me that we have to assume it's spread and act accordingly. I'm heartened by what I read in Suzanne Somers book, Knockout, but since he's not in dire straits at the moment that we know of, it's tempting to rest on our laurels! Thank you for being here....
