Medicine has become so polarized over the past two hundred years,

that I am often skeptical of those with an " integrative " practice,

but this is perhaps unfair of me as I tend to be skeptical of anyone

who treats chronic disease no matter their philosophy or

training. An integrative practice sometimes leaves me puzzled --

like saying one is trained both as a rabbi and as an imam to better

serve the total spiritual needs of an individual. One has to look

for qualifications beyond the pats on the head from one's

indoctrinators. I think the real qualifications are intelligence,

curiosity, compassion, focus, open-mindedness, willingness to spend

time with the patient, and a disdain for money beyond their

needs. Yes, and someone who is very modest about their halo.

Rakhee, you might have your father meet or call the clinician

suggested and ask him if he knows of a good resource in Pune. Your

father is going to need a lot of attention. If a situation is likely

to turn acute you want local help even if it isn't your first

choice. Of course the question is moot if your father has the

financial resources to relocate to South India for a couple of

months. I would think that India would have many very good, but

unheralded clinics and clinicians.
