It has been estimated that as many as one third of deaths due to cancer may

directly relate to the type of food you eat. Unfortunately, the typical American

diet consisting of highly processed food and fatty cuts of meat are exactly the

type of food which may cause cancer.

There are many foods and herbs available that contain an abundance of cancer

fighting properties and should be included in as many meals as possible on a

daily basis.

Cruciferous Vegetables: Such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and cauliflower

contain substances called sulforaphanes and indole-3-carbinols which help remove

carcinogenic toxins from the body, thereby preventing cancerous cells from

transforming into full blown tumors. When preparing these vegetables, either

gently steam or stir-fry to avoid destroying their cancer fighting substances.

I think the following are the most cancer-healing foods:

Beverages: green tea; freshly squeezed ASPARAGUS, carrot, celery, BEET, apple,

lemon, grape (w/seeds), wheatgrass, broccoli & green leaf juices; filtered water

Foods: organic, raw/steamed, local-grown vegetables (ASPARAGUS, seaweed, leafy

greens, kelp, onion/leek, rhubarb, BEET; broccoli, cruciferous & fermented

vegetables); fruit (especially grape w/seeds, berries, goji, pomegranate, fig,

plantain, kiwi, lemon); brown rice, barley, buckwheat; tempeh, miso; lentil,

mung bean, &

onion/garlic/broccoli sprouts; almond; walnut, FLAXSEED OIL w/COTTAGE CHEESE,

grape leaf?

Have you tried a vitamix? It makes fresh vegetables and fruits into a

smoothie and tastes good too?

My father has now been put on a feeding tube because the valve or whatever

you call it that flips between the swallowing and breathing tubes in the

throat has become weak and his food goes into his lungs. He is now

recovering from pneumonia cause by that problem.

He has a mass in his right lung and another on his right kidney. He is 90

years old and won't have a biopsy done. If he can't eat these veggies, how

can I get the cancer fighting properties in him? I really don't think I

would like the taste of pureed broccoli, brussels sprouts or cauliflower.

Especially if they would still retain a lot of texture. Thanks, Sylvia
