Guest guest
This is my first post. My husband was diagnosed with squamous cell cancer about a year ago and was first circumcised, then given a salve/cream (Aldara?)to apply topically everyday for months. It didn't look right but the dermatologist said that he thought it was just still in the healing phase, that if it looked like 'this and this', then it would be signs that the cancer was still there. Recently, it began to look just like he said. They did a biopsy. The results were positive that the cancer had returned; but now appears worse than ever. The doctor feels that because the first cream failed that he should use a more aggressive salve that, in his words, would be 'more unpleasant but might work'. The other options were almost not even possible to consider. My question is, could anyone tell me if they or anyone they know have had this experience, or if not, are there any other options for him alternatively? I really am not optimistic about using this new salve for four months with not good results and losing that precious time. I would very much appreciate any and all help and suggestions, Thank you,
