I AM CANCELLING MY HEALTH INSURANCE (In Honor of Farrah Fawcett)

I am cancelling my health insurance because:

1.) Oregon House Bill 2116 wants to tax private insurance payees like myself to

fund the Governor's pet projects. No one but us private payees are being forced

to fund this. We pay the highest insurance rate of any group because any

increases in hospital spending gets passed to ut first. $10,000+ of my yearly

earnings goes to health care premiums and co-pays. This figure is expected to

rise yearly. My the time I am eligible for Social Security (in 2017 I will be

65) I will have spent $90,000 - $100,000 on health care. The Governor and his

little bill won't get one red cent from me. They are also going to take away my

state tax deduction for my health care premium.

2.) No doctor has guaranteed my any cure. My own oncologist recently told me

" The Faslodex won't shrink your tumors. " Then several months later states, " You

could remain stable for many years. We can't even be sure you have cancer. It

may just be scar tissue from cell die-off. "

3.)I could spend the $100,000 over the next eight years on a variety of

different things. I could work less and enjoy my life more. I could travel the

world to all the places I have never been and wanted to go (i.e. Tibet, Nepal,

India, Australia, The Amazon, Peru, Copper Canyon in Mexico, Spain) and enjoy

the heck out of life. I could continue on my healthy diet and continue to heal

with all that money as well.

4.) I am tired of all the CT scans, the blood draws, the once monthly shot in my

butt(The Faslodex). I could take Myomen and continue with the anti-estrogenic

foods and supplements I am taking and maybe do just as well, if not better.

5.) I just discovered in the " Seven Day Detox Miracle " that the SSRI drug

(Zoloft) that I am on inhibits liver detoxifying enyzmes. So if Faslodex is

supposed to help lower/remove the estrogen in my body to fight my

estrogen-dominant tumors and if the liver is impeded from detoxifying the

estrogen because I am on Zoloft, am I not impeding my own recovery? Why can't

the doctors see/know this? Are they that blind to the body? Do I really have to

buy a $10 used book from the bookstore to find this out on my own? The liver is

the largest and most important organ for detoxification in the entire human

body.

6.) I have been deeply grieving for Farrah Fawcett, who is dying. I had a

" Farrah-Do " in the '70's. Do any other gals remember that? I was gorgeous myself

back then! I do not want to die like Farrah. O'Neal said yesterday morning

on the Today Show that " She can't be happy in the condition she is in. " No, I

don't want to go that way. I want to fight and become cancer-free and

win!!!!!!!!!!!

7.) The only down side is I won't know the progression of my disease or success

because I won't have access to health care. But, again, I am sick of all the

tests. If I were to die anyway, what difference would it make whether I had

insurance or not?

8.) I am also mad as hell that our liberal Oregon House of Representatives and

Senators refused to pass an alternative health care bill back in the mid-'90's

which would have given equal access to health care, like the state of

Washington. We're supposed to be for the common man here in Oregon. Don't

believe it!

9.) I am cancelling my health care insurance as a protest against the

international pharmaucetical drug pushers, the hospitals and the doctors who

don't allow for access to affordable drugs and health care.

10.) In honor of all those cancer survivors who have fought so hard and lost, I

give up the lie that cancer can't be cured. I refuse to participate any longer

in the lie (and thanks Debbie for being so outspoken about Bill O'Reilly's

oncologist guest).

In special memory of my best friend Rhonda who died from chemotherapy back in

1995 (My cancer was much more serious then hers and if anyone should have died,

it should have been me) and left a two year old child behind and my oncologist,

Dr. Panutich, who was erronously given extremely high doses of

radiation for treatment of his multiple myeloma and subsequently died last

September(the General Electric radiation machine hadn't been calibrated

correctly).
