Guest guest
I sure many will recommend Budwig. See the file at and see flaxseedoil2 group. Also, intravenous vitamin C might be worth trying. See the file at group. I will be interested to see what other recommendations will be made. Best to you, RB From: ginnic@... I would appreciate any feedback. The sister of a dear friend is dying of liver cancer. She supposedly has six months to live. Guest guest
I think Dr Burt Berkson in Las Cruses uses a combination of alpha lipoic acid IV and LDN for liver cancer. His phone number is 575-524-3720. There is a lot of info about him on the internet, so you might want to look him up and see what you think. I have been to him for my Hep C and he prescribed LDN for my rheumatoid arthritis. My Hep C is doing fine--and I have had it for 43+ years. I know he works with Hep C patients who develop liver cancer. Quinn In the swamp in secluded recesses, a shy and hidden bird is warbling a song. Guest guest
Beverly you mentioned your brother isn't into alternative treatments. The following was in my local hospital's newsletter. Perhaps he could look into this SIRT. Hopefully you can talk him into the addition of LDN & ALA. ............Barb <<"A leader in the fight against liver cancer". Liver tumors are tough to treat. Often the aggressive cancer is too large to operate on, and cancer drugs may be processed by the liver before they've had a chance to be effective. But Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital's doctors have found a solution in a relatively new procedure called selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT). The hospital started using SIRT last year. Sebouh Gueyikian, M.D., an interventional radiologist and director of the hospital's interventional radiology department, says the treatment is currently the most promising tool in the battle against the disease. How it works SIRT is a nonsurgical procedure that delivers high doses of radiation—up to 40 times more than traditional radiation therapies—to tumors while sparing surrounding normal tissue from damage. The treatment is delivered through millions of tiny radioactive spheres, which are injected through a catheter directly into tumors via the artery of the liver. Inside the tumor, the spheres continuously deliver radiation to the cancer site for two weeks. Patients only stay in the hospital overnight. While it is still too early for statistics, Jim Ruffer, M.D., medical director of the radiation oncology department, says the response so far has been wonderful. "It's been very well tolerated and can be used for patients who still have other treatment options as well as those who don't," he says. SIRT requires a collaborative effort, says Mosebach, director of diagnostic imaging and outpatient oncology, which may be why only a very select number of hospitals are currently offering it. Doctors in the interventional radiology, oncology, radiation oncology and nuclear medicine departments all have to work together to treat each patient. "A lot of people may talk about personalized care, but we really do it here," he says. To learn more about SIRT and other advanced cancer treatments available at Good Shepherd Hospital, call the HUGS Line at 847-842-HUGS (4847). A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. Guest guest
, thanks for the reply. I take (1) 1000 mg Spring Valley Concentrated Extract Milk Thistle each day. I have colon cancer w/mets to liver and lungs; I had colon resection last Oct and I haven't had any problems with my colon since, but my liver has been giving me problems for the last 6-8 weeks; right now its throbbing. I've been trying coffee enemas, which help but I need more. I went to the health food store and one of the guys there told me not to take milk thistle every day??? WTF?? So on top of being confused on how to beat this cancer I'm confused as to what supplements are best. I thought I was on the right track with the Budwig Protocol, but 's recent dialog regarding its effectiveness now has me a bit less hopeful. I'm a widow with a 6 year old son and I just want to live damn it.sorry, I'm frustrated. So many things I'd like to do but no funds to do it with. So I'm eeking by the best I can. I'm reading Anti Cancer currently and hope to glean some helpful info from it. I also take Univase Forte (5 before each meal 3xday); Vit D3 ( 10,000 mg each day). I use a fir dome at night over my liver/lungs/colon. I've been trying to stay free from stress and get some sunshine every day. Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks, Toni D

Guest guest
Toni I have reviewed my notes and the maximum I have ever suggested is 450 mg of sillimaryn 80%. I see that there are studies using 1050 mg but I have no further references. The German E commission (highly reliable source for botanicals) does not report any any problem with milk thistle doses as high as 450 mg. I assume no higher doses were studied. It is known that it inhibits the function of the CYP3A4 liver enzyme so you should not take any meds metabolized by such enzyme. I know of no reason why you were told to skip days. careful with coffee enemas; most people elevate the bag too much and overreach; the sigmoid colon is the target and is reached with just 400 ml or so and an elevation of no more than 60 cm (24 inches) over the body. It is a lot better to do several small applications than one large one. -------------------------------------------------- From: " Toni Duncan " <tonid2000@...> Sent: Thursday, May 20, 2010 5:09 AM < > Subject: RE: [ ] liver cancer > , thanks for the reply. Guest guest
Toni, The common therapies for helping the liver use the standardized 80% sylimarin product. The amount of this extract is up to you and your health professional but as I told you common dosages are 300-400 mg of the concentrated extract (80%). Guest guest
I can't speak as to how much milk thistle is acceptable I do take it daily. One thing I thought perhaps you might add which is free this time of year is dandelion which grows wild in most people's yard to your salad. Its very good for your liver as well. I guess I am a official health nut now a few weeks ago a guy knocked on my door from tru green a lawn poision company said He could get rid of my weeds for 39.95 per month. I said get rid of them why in the world would I want to do that I eat them. In addition I would never spray toxic chemicals where my children and pets play. I got the (LOOK) all I can say as I smiled as he drove away. All the best, MIke > > How much milk thistle is acceptable to take per day? I currently take 1,000 > mg per day . Guest guest
Hi Carol - Should tumor growth be detected during or after your husband's course of chemotherapy, then there is a promising investigational treatment approach that he could try (this is FYI, not medical advice). It uses a very high dose of a natural, non-toxic agent, for which both pre-clinical and preliminary clinical tests show dramatic tumor kill within a one-week period. This is a curious hybrid of a scientific approach, in pilot clinical testing at a major medical center, but one that uses a very high dose of a non-toxic, natural agent. Objectively, pancreatic cancer has a poor prognosis under any standard treatment approach, but a patient who seeks leading-edge treatment options can beat the odds. Should your husband's cancer reappear during or after chemotherapy, then were he to consult with a world-class oncologist, the advice would very likely be that the chances for beneficial results with more chemotherapy would be limited, and that a solid investigational treatment approach would be a good option.
