Guest guest
Hubby had a T implantation done, the doctors first! We are waiting on Bloodwork to see where his levels are currently. It didn't go very smoothly. I was in there w/ him when he had it done, and so was the drug rep, telling the doc what to do and how to. As hubby was facing away, and there wasn't preliminary talk about where the pellets were going to be put, found later..RIGHT ON THE WALLET PART OF THE BUTT..um, wrong place folks! Research showed me in the fat/skin layer at the top of the pocket area, or upper anterior thigh. My 'lay' experience pinched hubbys skin and had him tighten his butt cheeks and where muscle didn't come into play, would be a great spot. Anyway.... It was very painful there and he had a 3 wk healing. They halted implanting more than the first 9, to assess the results and make any changes. Hubby doesn't bounce around on his butt, but in his work and driving and plowing snow on a tractor, he opened his little wound and lost a pellet (or two, we don't know). They implanted 10 pellets. I am not holding my breath that his bloodwork x 1 month will be incredible. He certainly will not go for a repeat performance if that is what will happen again. Kicked like a mule isn't a good feeling. But if the doc tries a new higher area, he will. But at least, docs who will treat!!! .. Will let you know what the bloodwork shows. I read a comment that I was wondering if you all had heard. " As we grow older, do our hormones decrease?- Or, do we grow older BECAUSE our hormones decrease! Guest guest
Kay in my opinion implants are not smart. I know there are a few big fans of them here, but let me explain why I think shots are better. Over time virtually everyone on TRT has trouble with their T levels. Too high, too low. They need some fine tuning. On a weekly shot schedule it's easy to lower the dose, increase the dose, shorten or lengthen the cycle in between shots. There's a lot of flexibility for fine tuning. With implants you have as you've seen a messy implementation with risk of infection, healing issues, tenderness. Face it, its invasive. And then you get several months therapy with no real ability to fine tune. You're not going to readily go in to remove pellets. And adding more if levels come in low? As you read here you learn everyone's metabolism of T is different. And everyone feels good at different levels. Sure there is some average level that works for most, but optimum for each person covers a wide range. Implants don't allow for much tinkering to find that level in the short term. The fans of the process here are lucky, I imagine because they are on that happy average. But if you're not there, you'll want the fine tuning ability. And over time I think everyone needs some adjustment. On Thu, 15 Jan 2009 13:21:42 -0000, you wrote: > Hubby had a T implantation done, the doctors first!
