Guest guest
Endo's are not good Dr.'s for low T I need to tell you if you put on the gel before you did your labs this will spike your levels up very high. I have yet to see anyone to high doing 2x's your dose. If you put the gel on then did the blood work with in 6 hrs. or they took the blood from a spot were the gel was on your labs are not any good. You need to do a good shower the first thing in the morning of your labs then get in and do the blood work after this put on the gel. Even if it's been 24 hrs and the spot where they take the blood has some gel on it this will spike up your labs. If this is the case and your Dr. lowers your dose your going to crash. And at your age this is not fun. Guest guest
Phil is right - you shouldn't go off of just one reading - especially when your dosage is lower than expected. I would not change my dose until I did what Phil said and test prior to putting on your gel for that day. Most guys on gel have to use 2 packs a day to get a T of 500 or so. Of coarse everyone is different. Some respond to gels and others don't. This is really a trial and error process till you get in the right zone. Good Luck - Arkansas From: rchanson <rchanson333@...> Subject: Androgel 5ml and too high testosterone level Date: Thursday, September 18, 2008, 11:49 AM I had very low testosterone which was diagnosed as primary hypogonadism in July. I had gynnocomastia The endocronoligist started me on Angrogel 5ml gelpacks. I went in again this week. My levels are now considered too high and she wants me to cut back to half a pack. I certainly feel much better although I have gained quite a bit of weight. 15 lbs in two months. In any case my total testosterone now is 7.5 and the free testosterone is 142. Not sure of the units. In July the free T was 20.2 A dramatic increase! The dr thinks this is too high and wants to cut the dosage in half. I am a 74 year old male. I have been thru a bout with multiple myeloma this past year. Currently in remission because of the new cancer drugs. What do other members of this group think?
