Guest guest
Thanks again Phil. I think I inadvertantly made it to where my post didn't show on the message board, sorry. Do I understand Free T correctly if I said that a guy who has Total T of 850 and Free T % of 1.54 has more available T than I do with Total T at 465 and Free T% of 1.54? Thanks for the article as well. ________________________________ From: philip georgian <pmgamer18@...> Sent: Sunday, August 16, 2009 6:00:40 PM Subject: Re: 2nd test two years later Here is a link to your post. http://groups. / group/hypogonadi sm2/message/ 50670 Yes I feel you need your Estradiol checked do a Quest labs Senative Estradiol test #4021 the range is 13 to 54 pg/ml if your above 30 you might get higher levels of Free T getting this down high levels of estradiol make SHBG go up and this binds up Testosterone Free T is only 2% or all your T. Guest guest
Yes and no I don't mean to confuse this but if your Estradiol " E2 " is to high your SHBG goes up and this binds up your Testosterone. Also your brain can't tell the difference between them so when E2 is to high your brain thinks it's Testosterone. So it tries to lower your Testosterone by slowing down sending the LH and FSH messages from your brain to your testis to make more testosterone. To most Dr.'s this looks to them like your Secondary meaning you have some kind of Pituitary problem. The Pituitay is what sends the LH and FSH messages to your testis to make more Testosterone. So when testing one needs there E2 tested if T comes back low and LH and FSH are low and E2 is high it's not a Pituitary problem it's E2 levels are to high. Also if you eat to much SOY it has a marker in it that looks to the body and brain like E2 but it dose not work just looks like your levels are high same thing happens. I come across younger men that drink SOY milk thing it's better for them and some do a lot of way prtein powder with a lot of SOY in it. SOY is not good for men. So Free Testosterone gets bound up big time and all that's wrong is you have high levels of Estradiol and taking Arimidex the dose depends on how high your levels are. Getting this down will lower your SHBG in most cases and your Testosterone can go up some 200 to 300 points along with this your Free T is freed up. This happens to older men 40 and over but if your over weight and out of shape it can happen to younger men. http://jcem.endojournals.org/cgi/content/full/89/3/1174 http://www.medibolics.com/ArimidexBoostsTestosterone.htm http://www.smart-drugs.com/ias-estrogen.htm http://www.tmuscle.com/free_online_article/sex_news_sports_funny_grok/eman_vs_tm\ an%3bjsessionid=BFA65C51DB48A907D3AEA7D586769551.hydra http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html If you find the above linkhelpfulll please go to the files and links section at the home page on the lift side of your screen. Guest guest
Thanks very much for the info. I am learning that it is not as easy as just slapping on some T cream. My PCP is a DO and seems very open to the idea of wellness. I will take the info to him and see what we can get going. As well intentioned as he is, I would be suprised if he is as up to speed as you are. ________________________________ From: philip georgian <pmgamer18@...> Sent: Monday, August 17, 2009 8:47:38 AM Subject: Re: 2nd test two years later Yes and no I don't mean to confuse this but if your Estradiol " E2 " is to high your SHBG goes up and this binds up your Testosterone. But I am concerned about how my free percent is only .04 from the bottom of listed normal range. I have read that my free T is what matters most. Correct? Are there normal ways to improve my free %? I am worried about opening the door to balancing meds to keep boobs from growing and testicles from shrinking, although I believe if I am this low at my age, this therapy is in my future. Should i have my estradiol levels checked? Thanks for any and all input. Get an E2 test also. SOme guys with high E2 can get a 200 to 300 point total boost by bringing their E2 down. Guest guest
i have made another appt. with my doc to ask for additional blood tests. if I am correct i need to ask for the Quest Estradiol #4021 test, but also check my LH and SHBG. If my E2 is high, can treat with only an AI and not use T replacement and still improve libido, wood, etc? I am very nervous about getting on T replacement and ending up on 4 different meds just to avoid gyno, testicle atrophy etc. I still maintain a very fit appearance (never used steroids, just fit) and do not want to open up a pandoras box and do more harm than good, even though i know I will FEEL better. How is that for vanity? Even if E2 comes back elevated, I still will try supplements in article you (Phil) provided first, but I want a plan B. Would love it if i can treat with only an AI, but I think from what I've read that it may not solve problems alone. thanks as always, and for the record, I appreciate all the effort and input on this board. i felt a little alone and ignorant prior to here. ________________________________ From: philip georgian <pmgamer18@...> Sent: Monday, August 17, 2009 12:57:27 PM Subject: Re: 2nd test two years later Some Dr.'s are open to us bring in links and studys my Dr. is one of them I got him started reading a copy of Dr. 's " TRT: A Recipe for Success " at www.allthingsmale. com Co-Moderator Phil > > > > > From: jyoung9797 <jyoung9797@ . com> > > > Subject: 2nd test two years later > > > > > > Date: Sunday, August 16, 2009, 1:23 PM > > > I posted a few weeks ago, but could > > > not locate it to continue thoughts so i am > starting > > > again.
