Guest guest
My son who is pretty much dairy free and has been for years..has this but on just one side....was told that it was one of the side effects of mercury...not sure if that is true...but also that it was quite benign. Guest guest
BPA in plastics and canned food lining are known to do this too. The dental sealants mentioned also contains BPA. Here's a good PDF regarding unsafe plastics. http://www.healthobservatory.org/library.cfm?refid=77083 A lot of plastic food wraps contain BPA also. The best thing to make sure that something is BPA-free is to call the manufacturer. Guest guest
There are estrogen mimicking subtances in a lot of things these days. They use growth hormones in meat, diary. Soy also contains estrogens. Also the BPA's as mentioned, are an endocrine disruptor. I wonder if a bioidentical hormone doctor might be able to do some testing on his levels of hormones and help correct this. > > > Two other possibilities: > > 1. dental sealants > > 2. Guest guest
I heard some soy products contain estrogen or what they call " estrogen mimicking compounds " EMCs. Does he eat a lot of Soy products on his GFCF diet? Guest guest
I've had gynecomastia since I was a teenager, not knowing that I was hypo. I've been in treatment now for about 10 years, and have taken Arimidex for 5 years or so. It has not improved my gyno, so I have to assume that in my case - as in many cases - the only solution is an operation I can't afford. At my age - 50 - it's becoming less and less important, but still, I'd like to be able to go shirtless on the beach without feeling humiliated. > > > From: lawil32 <lawil32@...> > > Subject: gynecomastia > > > > Date: Monday, August 17, 2009, 7:58 AM > > on THT 7 yrs have mild > > gynecomastia will Arimidex correct or reduce symptom is > > anything helpful, Exclude operation   > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > >
Guest guest
It depends on what symptoms you are having. I had breast and nipple pain, with just some swelling. Arimidex got rid of the pain and swelling as well. If you have breast tissue growth, then it probably would not go away. bjesplin > would indolplex with dim help prevent/reduce gynecomastia? > > > > > > > --------------------------------- >
Guest guest
I am sorry but it's junk been there done that. If it dose not say Indolplex/DIM it dose not work for me. And when it comes in caps and you need to cut the dose how do you do this. You can try this get some olive oil open the caps pore it into a tsp of the oil in a bigger spoon and mix it and take it this way doing this it might work because it will not get killed in your stomach. It may shrink some, but if breast tissue has developed while it may shrink it will not reverse and go away.
Guest guest
Tried DIMM for a long time, could not tell any difference in anything. Stopped bothering with it years ago. Had liposuction surgery to suck fat out of breasts, best think I ever did.
Guest guest
It depends on what you are calling gynecomastia. If all that's there is fat, then DIM, Arimidex, or whatever wouldn't help because the fat isn't there because of E2. Just losing weight should get rid of it. If it's true gynecomastia with breast tissue growth, then something to lower E2 should stop the progression of it, but not necessarily reverse the breast tissue growth, in which case surgery would be the only treatment to get rid of the tissue. > > Tried DIMM for a long time, could not tell any difference in > anything. Guest guest
Gyno is caused by elevated estrogen levels. The testosterone and estradiol molecules are very similar. Testosterone can convert to estradiol, but estradiol doesn't convert back to testosterone. There is an enzyme called aromatase the lives in adipose(fat)tissue. The aromatase molecule surrounds the testosterone molecule, strips off a side chain portion of the molecule and converts it to estradiol. There is an execellent animation demonstrating this process here: http://www.arimidex.com/how-arimidex-works.aspx There is a drug called Arimidex, the generic is Anastrazole, that is an aromatase inhibitor. It is designed to treat breast cancer. For that the dose is usually a 1 mg pill per day. That's too much for men on TRT, and typically we would take 1/4 mg every other day. Phil has described his method of determining whether your estrogen is too high or low many times on this forum. Since aromatase lives in adipose tissue, and breasts are mostly fat, the process can snowball after a while. Once the boobs have a " toehold " and have established themselves, they are yours to keep. Only a surgeons knife will make them go away after that. Randy Hoops Springfield, MO > > Hs anyone had problems with Gynecomastia after being on Androgel for Hypogonadism ?
