Guest guest
Injectable is about the cheapest at $20mos.. I think Androgel is more expensive then Testim, but I can be wrong about that. By the vial it's less than ten dollars a shot. Under $40 a month. Medicare pays for it and the onsite injections is my understanding. Many doctors try to go every two weeks for convenience, but lots of us get a roller coaster effect from that. The dose is double so in the beginning of the two weeks your levels are higher and then by the end they may have plummeted below what you need . Weekly knocks down the peaks and raises the trough to be more even.
Guest guest
Androgel and Testim are brand name very very expensive, all drug company profit. Learn to self inject, cheapest and most effective.

Also compounded t cream at 10% can be had at compounding pharmacies. The price is a lot cheaper and quite a bet LESS is needed each day. However, I still prefer injections since I only have to do them weekly and they don't cause estradiol to go up for me. -- Steve - dudescholar4@... Guest guest
I use androgel - 7.5 mg each morning - it works great. I too am 65 years old and my endrocrinologist has found the right amount for me. At first I was taking only 5 mg each day but that was too little based on my numbers so he doubled it and that was too much. Just like in the Goldilocks story 7.5 is just right. My numbers are good (testosterone and psa) though he will monitor it periodically.  The only side affect that I have notices is I am horny as hell. After putting it on I come up to the computer, watch a little porn and stroke away getting a real good hardon.  Hope tht answers you questions - if you have any other questions you need answered contact me at my e-mail address old_retired_big_guy@...  From: okiedokietoday@... <okiedokietoday@...> Subject: I am 65, retired and on medicare. Guest guest
I agree with Steve, I get a 10% compounded gel from a local pharmacy, it costs about $70 but last a couple of months. Consider that both Testim and Androgel have ONLY ONE PERCENT actual testosterone, and we are talking ten times as much, so a LOT LESS is needed to rub in. norton
Guest guest
Your post is interesting to me, I am 59, primary, take androgel - 7.5-10 grams/day and my libido is through the roof. I have found that androgel, vigorous daily exercise (free weights + cardio), solid diet = horny old guy that does not need ED medication of any type. I also find that free porn clips only fuels my libido! I am interested if pornography helps others with their libido and erections/ejaculations? I am 65, retired and on medicare. Guest guest
Do you need a prescription for getting compound gels? Reason why i ask is ive been a patient with an Doctor in NJ for nearly 10 yrs now and over the yrs his practice has gotten farther and farther away and every attempt to find a new doctor to see the same diagnosis as my current has been futile (nearly attempts) I believe for whatever reason, they are refusing to come to the same conclusion... so If i can get an natural androgel supplment that is not harmful and fully researched tested etc and just as effective... i would be extremely happy! > > I agree with Steve, I get a 10% compounded gel from a local pharmacy, it costs about $70 but last a couple of months. > Consider that both Testim and Androgel have ONLY ONE PERCENT actual testosterone, and we are talking ten times as much, so a LOT LESS is needed to rub in. > norton >
Guest guest
See a doctor with a D.O. designation. You can provide him with the printouts from " allthingsmale.com " on TRT. The Life Extension Foundation (lef.org) in the past 6 months or so had a magazine article T prescriptions and gave a sample compounding prescription for 10% T that one can take to their doctor. My best guess at a solution is to get your old doctor to make the change to compounding 10% T with the justification that you are strapped for money and this is both cheaper and easier to apply. Then, when that is accomplished, find a D.O. near you and say you just want to continue with your current treatments that you've had for " YEARS " . Guest guest
All testosterone requires a prescription. Call around and find a compounding pharmacy and see if they will mix you up a jar of five or 10% T gel, gel not a cream. I use 10%, which is ten times more T than Androgel or Testim which are only one percent. It costs about $70 for a jar and lasts a couple of months, just a half teaspoon a day rubbed in to the no fact area of the inside bicep. I get mine from Highland Pharmacy in Albuquerque, call them, they ship. norton
