Just wanted to make sure you're checking for this. Jackie
Guest guest
Hi Steve, Infection of the epididymis, which is a part of the testicle, is fairly common in men. It can range from somewhat painful to very painful. It should be treated by a doc right away. Antibiotics generally do the trick. Luke > Has anyone else had testicular pain? Guest guest
My husband had this from an antidepressant, I think it was Paxil. Guest guest
Yes I have had this and for me it was my high Estradiol doing this also made my prostate act up. Funny Dr.'s want to fix anything wrong by lowering you dose. Yes this may help fix the problem but causes other problems. For me lower levels the testosterone did not support my joints and muscles. I ended up in so much pain I could not walk when I first stood up. I had MRI's on my back and knees nothing bad enough to cause this much pain. When I got my Estradiol down the low graide pain in my gron was gone and my prostate went down no more slow voiding and bladder infections. I later added HCG this got my testis working again and they were so small do to TRT that they were the size of small grapes. Now they are back to normal and most of the testosterone in my tests are from my testis. It's the fact your on TRT and your brain sees this and stops sending the LH and FSH messages to your testis to make more testosterone. So they stop working even if your Primary they were still making some testosterone. I feel when they are getting smaller from not working this was part of the low pain I felt. Still just getting Estradiol down between 10 to 30 pg/ml fixed this for me. When I added HCG now alll my LH cells in my body are working again and I feel much better. Look at your Estradiol levels and get some HCG you can read about it at Dr.'s site. www.allthingsmale.com click on Pub. on the left side and read TRT: A Recipe for Success and the HCG update. Here is a cut & paste of a reply to a post I sent him telling him my Dr. would not let me try HCG. I showed this to my Dr. and he let me try it. ====================================================== Your Dr. probably feels that since you suffer primary hypogonadism (I am guessing) there is no use in adding HCG to your protocol. There are several reasons why this is not so. First, you have not lost all Leydig cells, so any HCG you take will stimulate those who still function to produce endogenous testosterone. This will support testicular size. We should not ignore this aesthetic consideration. Next, if he reads my work, he will learn that HPTA-suppressed (as all TRT patients are to some extent) also suffer decreased pregenenolone levels, which is the first step after CHOL in all three hormonal pathways which begin with CHOL. HCG increases pregnenolone production, and therefore restores a more natural balance of our hormones. Next, nearly all TRT patients who add in HCG to their regimens report an increased sense of well-being and also libido. These are genuine quality of life issues. Finally, I just instinctively do not want all those LH receptors (including those we have yet to discover and appreciate) unstimulated. gettin_older <gettin_older@...> wrote: Has any one experienced testicular pain that is attributable to your TRT? I am experiencing periodic low-grade pain in my left testicle w/occasional sharp stabbing pain. Upon self examination I and my doc note no abnormalities. If there are no abnormalities, then she wants to decrease my weekly injection to 75mg from 100mg. gettin older Co-Moderator " Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see. Guest guest
The results of my ultrasound indicate something is going on. I am now on Cypro for two weeks. My doc said I should stop my T for now. Fat Chance! I will follow this w/another ultrasound. If I am not better then I'm off to see a urologist. I'll keep ya posted. Guest guest
An update: I have been on Cypro for almost two weeks (my doc recommended this based on a consult w/a Urologist) I still have the discomfort. I was diagnosed w/some type of calcification in the testicle. Today I had a follow up ultrasound and there has been no change, according to the tech (I had the same tech for both scans). I'm sure I will have to go see the urologist since there has been no change. Gettin Oldeer > > Has any one experienced testicular pain that is attributable to your > TRT? Guest guest
I wouldn't call mine pain. For a while I thought I had found my teenage years. I had been experiencing the discomfort of wanting to discharge frequently. Wood " was " occurring all the time. This may not make any sense. I can still make wood but now I have to make it myself. Flagpoles haven't been as frequent as they have been lately. There was a while when it got out of control but now I'm flat. I'm not doing anything different than before. I was hoping the hypergonadal activity would recur in a repeating cycle. It had been recurring for a while. It's been a couple of weeks and this activity hasn't repeated itself yet. It is not a complaint and I am fine. I was just hoping that the frequent flagpoles that used to happen all the time would be doing so on a predictable schedule. I was very enthusiastic some time ago but now things appear to be " normal? " Looks like maybe I was wrong about those teenage years coming back. jimdetroit <jmosrite@...> wrote: > > > > Has any one experienced testicular pain that is attributable to your > > TRT? Guest guest
I wouldn't call that pain either. I don't know what I'd call it, actually. I somewhat long for the days when an erection came w/o reason. I do smile when I remember the days when just the mere scent of a woman's cologne would trigger a massive boner. Wow! those were the days. They were also frustrating days since non-manual relief wasn't always available. Heck, I've been married for almost 30 years, and non-manual relief still isn't always available. My need/desire for sex is not at the same level as my wife's. I get nighttime erections, but do have ejaculation issues (my wife is done long before I am much of the time; 25 mg of viagra seems to help here). " I feel you pain. " I wish this was the type of pain I was feeling now. My current issue is a feeling of " blue balls " (remember that during those teenage years?) in my left testicle multiple times per day. There does not seem to be relationship between my pain and anything I'm doing for TRT. It does not coincide w/my weekly shot or the DIM I'm taking daily. Sometimes the pain is pulsating and other times it is more piercing. Gettin Older > > I wouldn't call mine pain. For a while I thought I had found my teenage years. Guest guest
Finally got a referal to see a urologist. The low down is that this type of pain with no palpable lumps or infections has no known cause. It comes and may/may not go away. In his career, he has amputated 3 testicles because this pain became unbearable. Others have responded to nerve blocks. Time will tell. The good news is that the calculi found in the ultrasounds are benign and amost never cause any trouble. TRT is not the cause, nor an amplifier of this condition.
