Guest guest
Zora I had an attack the other day and previous to that I had eaten peppers and corn (plus other things). I also can't really get on with raw onions and I suspect salad, tinned tuna in water and salsa mixes, because I have felt " not right " after having eaten them, if you know what I mean. I have had a cooked chili con carne and was ok with that. So, for me, eating a lot of raw veggies, as is recommended, isn't for me. Green veggies seem to suit me better. I have no caffiene and drink filtered water when I drink water. I think that sometimes, when your body is being dissolved of the stones and they are in the process of being booted out of your body, it can sometimes feel like an attack. When that happens to me I also spend alot of time on the loo!! Maybe your good diet is working, it sounds as though you are consuming the right sort of stuff, it just takes time to get the balance right - everyone's different. It took me about six weeks to get it basically ok. I take loads of supplements and stuff and must admit that after taking lecithin I felt enormously better after a couple of days. Aloe vera juice is gross but it calms down the inflammation in your system. I just take it neat and so it's over and done with. Avocados also calm my insides, too. This suggestion may be like selling sand to the Arabs, but when I feel an attack coming on, along with other things, I try to do deep breathing exercises, just concentrating on my breathing - it helps out and takes my mind off the pain and sickness! A bit like child birthing!! Anyway, it works for me. A nurse suggested that to me when I was hospitalised with this condition. I also try to walk around the house when " attacked " - it just eases it a bit and I really don't know why. Hope this is of use to you. Sorry for waffling on. Hope you feel better

I've never had attacks before unless I'd eaten some fatty > foods. ____ Zora, The foods that are good for softening stones are also foods that stimulate the flow of bile, so if you are producing more bile, it is moving more bile through the ducts of the liver and to the gallbladder. When I am preparing to do a flush, and drink apple juice during the week, after a few days I notice gallbladder symptoms, (I've not had the severe attacks many describe, but plenty of discomfort). I believe that the increased bile is causing some stones or sludge to move out of the GB and also causing some of the stones that may be in the liver ducts to move down to into the GB, ready to be flushed out. Have never read anything scientific on this, but it is common sense. So yes, they could cause you to suffer symptoms. Are you preparing to do a flush? If you are taking lots of apples, apple juice, etc., you may be ready to do one. Also another thought, eventually as the GB gets worse, it seems like almost any protein will trigger symptoms, even low fat protein. That was my experience. Have been a lot better since my last couple flushes...not 100% yet, but about 80% :-) Will be giving it another go in the summer. Take care, L.
