Guest guest
For his aortic aneurysm did they talk about fixing this with sugary. I tried Pellets but the Dr. I used did not give me enough of them 700 mgs is nothing for a man and if he is over 200 lbs in weight he needs about 1600 mgs to last. I can't find a good Dr. that will give me pellets for a good price they all here in MI. what to give you less to keep you coming back so they can make more money. Pellets are designed to last 3 to 4 months your Dad's levels might fall in 2 months. My BCBS will not pay for them so I can't see paying this amount of money every 2 months. I feel your dads problems with BPH and ED are due to high high Estradiol levels he needs to test this and if it's over 30 pg/ml get on some arimidex to get this down some men his age are very high the older we get the more Estradiol we make and going on TRT we make even more of it. High level of Estradiol can make a mans prostate enlarge and slow down his voiding and cause bladder infections. When I was first tested I had BPH bad and even had sugary for it this only worked for a yr. then the problem came back. My Estradiol E2 test at over 90 my Dr. put me on .5 mgs one half a of a one mgs pill. In six weeks I got my involuntary nocturnal erections that appear during REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep back after not having them for over 35 yrs. Also I was having Panic Attacks in the middle of the night, I had a bad rash on the back of my legs and under my arms that nothing helped and I had bad ED and could not reach an orgasm this was going on for about 10 yrs. Getting my Estradiol down fixed all of this and my Prostate went down. I helped an 85 yr old man that came here that was on TRT through the VA he needed to use a penis pump and a penis ring to have sex with his wife God Bless them they were still having sex. He tested his Estradiol levels they were very high so he went on Arimidex and he was shocked to find the first thing to come back after many yrs. was his involuntary nocturnal erections that appear during REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. He then was able to have sex without the pump and ring but as with all of use men after having ED we worry about it working when we go to have sex and this kills it. So I told this man to go on Cialis 20 mgs and take it every 3 days this works you can worry all you want it will stay up. God bless my Dr. for telling me this in time I did not need cialis the worry was gone. Now about his Testosterone levels when we have high Estradiol levels it takes away from the good the testosterone we add to our body. Are SHBG levels go up and this binds up the Testosterone in are body. So if you do a Quest Labs Test #4021 to test his Estradiol and find it high getting this down lowers SHBG and Free's up Free Testosterone. Most of the men do good getting there Testosterone levels up into the upper 1/3 of there labs range and by keeping there Estradiol down to about 20 pg/ml they feel great. High Estradiol will make a men feel very bad brain fog, fatigue, ED, problems reaching an orgasm, feeling of panic or anxiety. If he turns out high and I feel he is Taking arimidex is very strong most Dr.'s don't know what dose to give men it's best to start with half a one mg. pill every other day first thing to come back would be his night time and morning wood it will be so strong it will wake him up this we call the sweet spot that best level for his Estradiol. Keep taking the arimidex but watch for his wood to stop this happens when his Estradiol levels go down to low it will kill wood dead. So just stop the arimidex until the wood comes back then that day to back on it but do less take .25 mgs or 1/4 of a pill every 2 to 3 days this is the dose that works for most of use. Using wood to gage not to go down to low works great so have him keep a log on what he is taking and how his wood is. Some times we go back up to high and some of us get sore and hard nipples this is a clue we are going to high. But between labs and gaging wood we do great. Here are some links and as for Pellets go to messages at the home page and do a search on them and read some of the older posts. We have a member here that has been on them for yrs I believe he is in his late 70's. Here is his Email his nick is in this maybe he will jump in here. ernestnolan@... He is a cut and paste of a reply to me from him to help me get my Dr. to let me use HCG. ============================================================== He probably feels that since you suffer primary hypogonadism (I am guessing) there is no use in adding HCG to your protocol. There are several reasons why this is not so. First, you have not lost all Leydig cells, so any HCG you take will stimulate those who still function to produce endogenous testosterone. This will support testicular size. We should not ignore this aesthetic consideration. Next, if he reads my work, he will learn that HPTA-suppressed (as all TRT patients are to some extent) also suffer decreased pregenenolone levels, which is the first step after CHOL in all three hormonal pathways which begin with CHOL. HCG increases pregnenolone production, and therefore restores a more natural balance of our hormones. Next, nearly all TRT patients who add in HCG to their regimens report an increased sense of well-being and also libido. These are genuine quality of life issues. Finally, I just instinctively do not want all those LH receptors (including those we have yet to discover and appreciate) unstimulated Co-Moderator Phil > From: Whitfield <starlightvisions@...> > Subject: Need some help, please > > Date: Monday, August 24, 2009, 10:53 PM > Hi, > > I am new to this group but I am posting in regards to my > dad, who is > 81, and he doesn't have a clue how to work a computer. > My dad had T > pellets inserted 5 weeks ago. Guest guest
Hi Phil, Thank you for your response. Did you see the numbers of my dad's blood work? He is taking the amitrex twice a week. The dr put him on that right away. I don't understand, being on 5 weeks into the pellets and he his still not achieving morning or night erections. He put him on 700mg of pellets cause he said it is better to start low than to high. Most Dr's wont touch a man his age, cause they said there is not enough research to support that pellets would even work for someone his age. Well, they are wrong, they seem to be working for everything but the sexual issues. He aid he is happy with everything else, but that.I can't say I blame him.I am also on pellets, and go for my next insert this friday. This is my second insert. It's the only method that I seem to absorb. The only problem I face is the correct ratio. They tend to give women to high T and not enough E. Thats what happened to me the last insert. I told my Doc, Hey treat me like a woman not a man!! I switched Dr's cause not happy with him, but now my poor dad is stuck with him, cause no one else will do it for him, but this guy. If you look at his blood work, does it raise any flags?? Guest guest
Oh Phil I forgot to mention. No, need to have the surgery for his aortic aneurysm as of yet, it's still on the small side. He monitors it every 6 months. Will the flomax that he has been taking for 25 years have an impact on impotency? Guest guest
Yes it's a good idea to start low and work up to a good dose one thing that can happen is blood can get to think for some men and only way to fix this on pellets would be to remove them not a good thing. How much arimidex is he taking 2x's a week is it's the hole pill 1mg then I would say his Estradiol went down to low very fast and he missed the sweet spot. To fix this I would just stop taking it see if wood starts up. When it dose do 1/4 of a pill every 3 days. Most of us men have sore and hard nipples with Estradiol levels go to high. Best to do labs to tell. Yet the first time I took arimidex my Estradiol levels were over 90 and it took me about 4 weeks to see it come down by 6 weeks my ED was gone. As for flomax I feel once he gets his Estradiol in check he will not need this anymore and it dose cause ED in some men. His Testosterone levels need to come up but this takes time most of us don't get leveled off for a good time. He sounds like his Dr. is good at this. As for your Pellets if you start getting hair on your face or it starts to thin out your Testosterone levels might be to high. One needs to do lab at the peak of the there time on pellets in about 4 weeks. Guest guest
Yes Flomax has some bad sides and will give a man ED problems but taking Viagra or Cialis fix's this. I feel once he gets his Testosterone levels up and keeps his Estradiol down his prostate will go back down mine did and a lot of other men here. Guest guest
A gal using pellets! My gyno did a trial w/ me. The improvement lasted about 3months and doc wouldn't repeat, was a very cautious doctor. I since found a new one and am in wk 13 of 12.5mg of Androgel per day plus 25mg DHEA 2XDaily. I feel much better (but looking for more mental connection re: fantasy, erotic thought to come back to match the physical 'horniness') Email me if you want to chat. Magiclea@... Kay Hubby update soon. He has been on T injections for about 3 months now. Lab review on Thursday!

You really need to find a good dr to know what they are doing with hormones because this women is trying but is completely out of the loop. You need to look at baseline readings of all your labs to know where to even start. 50 mgs of dhea will increase e2 dramamtically and needs to be measured as well as the metabolites of dhea needs to be tracked to make sure there are going down the proper pathway. 12.5 mgs of androgel is a rediculous amount and what are your current levels and when are then tested? Was it before or after the application of the gel. If she is dosing you base upon the am morning blood draw with out application of the cream this is why you are not getting optimal results. Guest guest
Very good Hard but in women DHEA ups Testosterone not E's this happens in men if they take to much of it I do believe this post is from a women. My wife's Dr. had her on this much and later her hair started falling out it was the high levels of DHEA drove up her DHT instead of her Testosterone. Guest guest
It would be great if you could add that Docs name to the database since he/she still prescribes T. The biggest challenge all of us seem to have is *finding* a doctor near us. > > > > A gal using pellets! My gyno did a trial w/ me. Guest guest
When they did my pellet implant in May he did 18mg of E and 118.5 of T! Needless to say I only felt the E for about 2 weeks until the monster T came and slammed my E down!! At 4 weeks I had horrible symptoms of excess T, and my dr woudn't even supplement me with spirondactene (Blocker to help effects of T). Needless to say I was fuming, as he was treating me more like a man than a woman. Make a long story short, I see a new DR (GYN) on friday. For some strange reason, most pellet dr's give higher T than E to women. I have no idea why, but they do. > > > Where are you located at? Guest guest
Hi Phil, Well, thank you I try to be. I wish he did have the computer knowledge as this helps, but being he doesn't I am willing to do it for him, embarrassing or not. Really, it is called nature, and it really doesn't embarrass me at all. I am raising 2 boys so nothing I don't know. My only concern is trying to get my dad to feel good again, besides, it was my idea he at least try the pellets. I was hoping around 4 weeks he would be jumping for joy that his " parts " were working, but he is like, " Well, maybe a tad, but not where I want to be " . I was like, really??? I am just surprised. Unless of course it takes longer for men. I have fairly good experience with women pellets, but really not much for men being on them, which brought me to this forum looking for answers. I felt my T like 2 weeks into my insert and 4 weeks I was having T excess! (NOT FUN). This is all a learning experience, and a good one at that! Guest guest
Do you take DHEA if you do this converts into Testosterone and when your levels get to high it can grow hair on your face and make you lose hair on your head. Also it will enlarge your clit this happened to my wife it made her very uncomfortable. She was not on pellets but a cream and doing 25 mgs of DHEA 2x's a day. She stopped both. Guest guest
It all takes time first one needs to get there levels up into the upper 1/3 of there labs range for Total T and keep Estraiol down to about 20 pg/ml is his SHBG is low like mine 22 then he needs to keep his Estradiol down to about 15 still I gage this by my night time and morning wood. Now when your leveled like this your Free T levels come up and your body starts to undo the damage done from suffering from low Testosterone. So for some men it takes longer we all are not the same still he will get there. Co-Moderator Phil > > > > > > > what an amazing story. Guest guest
Have your DHT levels checked to be sure they are not to high my wife's cousen has been on pellets for yrs. Her new Dr. put in some new ones last month and she is in town and told me her hair is falling out. Her thyroud is good but her Testosterone levels went up to high. One good lab for pellets is this link. Have your new Dr. fax them your labs and they will make your pellets to your labs. http://www.collegepharmacy.com/menshealth/andropause.asp Co-Moderator Phil > > > > > > > > > From: hardasnails1973 <hardasnails1973@...> > > > > > Subject: Re: Need some > help, > > > please > > > > > > > > > > Date: Wednesday, August 26, 2009, 9:26 > AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > A gal using pellets!
