Guest guest
Jim It may be a good idea to go to a sleep clinic. Sleep Apena or antoher sleep disorder could be causing your problem. I believe that Sleep Apena was the main reason my Testosterone levels dropped. Jack > > I have yet to start HRT, although through my reading it seems that complex things go on when we sleep. At least a man that has his hormones(testosterone)in check. I haven't slept a good night in 2 years. My sleep used to be not an issue. I used to lift weights after work in the P.M. with constant gains. Then, about 2 years ago, nothing. I may have worked myself into a state of overtraining (adrenal problems). > > Does anyone have any links to what goes on hormonally during sleep? >
Guest guest
I had a dam good link but it's there just nothing listed anymore. What happens is if your Cortisol rhythm is off at night when your sleeping your body will make a lot of Adrenalin and or your sugar levels drop. You need to test your cortisol levels don't a 4 x's in a day saliva test to see what stage your at. When you go to bed eat some meat to help keep your sugar levels up and keep some on your bed stand like cheese or a protein bar when you wake take a bit. I have tons of info about low cortisol and over worked adrenals one thing that helps is to put a 1/2 tsp full of good Sea Salt in a glass of water and drink it down first thing in the morning. Some people with bad adrenals dump there sodium. They take about this in this link. http://www.tuberose.com/Adrenal_Glands.html In this link it shows what the stages are one can be at. http://www.chronicfatigue.org/ASI%201%20.html This is a good link about Adrenal Fatigue and over doing it in the gym. http://www.tmuscle.com/article/diet_and_nutrition/adrenal_fatigue_101 & cr=dietAnd\ Nutrition I was a mod at STTM forum we did this FAQ's in this is every thing you need to know about it and treating it. http://forums.realthyroidhelp.com/viewtopic.php?f=12 & t=256 If your testing shows your cortisol levels to high at night this is what will keep you up read this and take this supplement. http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ps/ Here are some labs that you can buy a 4x's /day cortisol test. http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/adrenal-info/ Co-Moderator Phil > From: jim <virtuosa150@...> > Subject: Importance of sleep > > Date: Monday, September 21, 2009, 9:58 PM > I have yet to start HRT, although > through my reading it seems that complex things go on when > we sleep. Guest guest
I did the 4x cortisol test yesterday and sent it off today. We'll see what it shows. I'll be getting a battery of blood tests done next week thanks to hardasnails and Dr.O. I'll finaly be getting some help from a doc that knows how to tie it all together. I don't have a problem falling to sleep. I always wake up around 3:00. I'll try the protein bar. When I was into weightlifting, I used to use Casein protein be going bed. It's a slow absorbing protein. I may try this again. I can't wait to get on HRT. I really miss lifting weights (not that I'm huge or anything). I've lost about 10lbs. and I can't say it's fat. I'm 49 and don't think i'm near being done with quality life. That's where the HRT will fix. > > > From: jim <virtuosa150@...> > > Subject: Importance of sleep > > > > Date: Monday, September 21, 2009, 9:58 PM > > I have yet to start HRT, although > > through my reading it seems that complex things go on when > > we sleep. Guest guest
Hard is a good friend and you are in good hands at one time I was helping him now he helps me he has come a long ways in his health. Yes try eating that bar before bed this helps if your sugar is falling and it's about the same time I would wake up in a sweat and my chest would feel tight and it was a bad dam bad feeling. Now I eat before going to bed. Guest guest
phil, research the casein protein powder(optimum nutrition " gold standard " ). It's a protein source that is supposed to be absorded slowly. Mixing a shake before you go to bed may do away with the things you leave on your nightstand. Before I " hit the wall " with my hormone issues, I religiously used casein before I went to bed. I constantly made gains in muscle mass(although not genetictly gifted) and strength. I also slept like a baby. Soon I will be seriously addressing my hormonal issues. I have goals set for myself. I'm a fighter, the training and dicipline is what drives me. Guest guest
Thanks Jim I will look into this but I don't have the problem anymore sense starting on Cortef HC for low cortisol levels.
