Guest guest
Go on shots learn to do them your self doing T shots every week most men don't have the ups and downs. Back in the day Dr.'s had men come into the office every 4 weeks for a huge shot. This did not work well by the time your ready for your next shot your low. So they did them every 2 weeks still this same problems. Now we do them every week one needs to start low and test every 8 weeks until they are leveled. I call being leveled feeling better and having Total T levels up into the upper 1/3 of your labs range. Also men on TRT and the older you are the more this is a problem. Estradiol levels go up with age in your case this might not be a problem your in dam good shape still we test it and keep it down to about 20 pg/ml I us Quest Labs Test #4021 the range is 13 to 54 pg/ml this is a sensitive test good for men. Now once your leveled off add in HCG this acts like LH the message the tells your Testis to make testosterone adding this will keep your levels up before your next shot and keep your testis working. And all the other LH cells in your body and brain. Going on TRT this gets shut down your brain sees the T in your blood and slows down sending the LH message to your testis so they stop working and get small. Most do 250 IU's a shot the 2 days each before your next shot so if you do your T shot on Mon. you would do HCG on Sat. and Sun. http://spotinjections.com/index3.htm Some of use eat up the T as fast as we take it I am one that does this so I do shots every 3 days I need a lot because my body eats it up fast. I do 80 mgs of 200mgs/ml of Depo T. And I do HCG 400 IU's the 2 days each in between my T shots. Doing this keeps me leveled and holds down my Estradiol levels. I have found doing a bigger shot every week in my case it would be 200 mgs most of it converts into Estradiol so doing a smaller shot more often works best for me but that's me. Some men need to do shots 2x's a week my levels of Total T stay up in the 800's the top of the range for my lab is 1100 for Total T. Guest guest
Phil, Wow! I feel like a sponge; just taking all this in. Eventually, I will probably go to shots, as you suggested. In the meantime, I'm planning on staying with the gel unless my body indicates it is not working anymore. My next appointment with the doctor isn't until March. Normally, I'd do the labs about a week ahead of my doctor visit. This seems like awhile to wait for feedback, but maybe that's the scientific way to proceed with this therapy. After all, there's the possibility I've had low testosterone all of my adult life. What's a few more months' wait? If I do decide to go with shots, I have no problem giving them to myself. Many years ago I injected Papaverine into my penis to treat ED. If I could stick a needle into my penis, sticking one into my leg shouldn't be a problem at all. Ha, ha. In the meantime, I'll take into account everything you suggested. Should I feel the least bit off physically, I'll see the doctor sooner. I am usually pretty perceptive about my health….not that I do everything I should for good health all of the time. One project I'm presently working on is cutting back on drinking alcohol, which will please my wife and maybe have a positive affect on my T numbers too. Guest guest
, I contacted the doctor's office this morning to get the results of my last T test. They are: total=417, free=97 and percentage=23. This lab work was done on 9/8/2009. The original lab test was on 7/30/ 2009. That test was only the total T count of 348. Obviously there is a only small increase in total T. One thing I forgot to mention is that I actually started on Androgel on 8/1/2009. Unfortunately, the pharmacist misread the doctor's prescription and told me to administer one (1) pump of Androgel each day. As a result, for the first month I as only getting ¼ of the dose I should have been getting. This means that the increase in T count is a result of the reduced dose and therefore not reflective of the proper dose. I'll be anxious to see what the numbers are next time. My next appointment is sometime in March, which is a ways off. Jay Phil, I noticed that you had rejected the above post and wondered why. Thanks for letting me know about it. Guest guest
Jay if your on 5 grams call your Dr. your Total T numbers are to low and it dose not take more then 2 weeks to get levels up on the right dose. You are only half way there. Try 7.5 grams don't go until March why suffer I can tell you from all the men I talk to and I talk to a lot this is just one forum I post at. They don't get higher levels until they are on 10 grams and on the avg. of the men there levels only go into the lower 600's. Read this link in this it states to get your TT levels up into the upper 1/3 of your labs range and to keep your Estradiol levels down in the range of between 15 to 30 best at 20 pg/ml. You will learn a lot from this link. http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html Co-Moderator Phil > From: Primemuscle <josborne3@...> > Subject: Re: RE: Androgel Absorption Questions > > Date: Tuesday, September 29, 2009, 2:54 AM > > , > > > > I contacted the doctor's office this morning to get the > results of my > last T test. They are: total=417, free=97 and > percentage=23. Guest guest
We put people on 10 grams right off the bat to prevent this from happening. If after 2 weeks there are not levels in the 700-900 2 hours after application and adrenals and thyroid has been ruled out we move right to shots. With in 10 days we will know what is going on. Wasting months at a time is not fair to the patient, but getting a clincal response is our primary goal in a swift and methodical matter. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: Primemuscle josborne3@ > > > > > > > > Subject: > > Androgel > > > > Absorption > > > > > > Questions > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Date: Sunday, September 27, > > 2009, 6:25 > > > > PM > > > > > > > > When I was fourteen years > > old, I > > > > > > > > caught the mumps and lost one > > testicle. > > > > Although > > > > > > a few > > > > > > > > doctors told me that > > shouldn't cause me > > > > to have > > > > > > ED, > > > > > > > > something has. Guest guest
Starting people out on 10 grams will resolve any reveal any absorption and will know if it will work in a matter of 10 days. 10 days is alot quicker then 2-3 months of trying to screw around with titrating up and so forth. Proper evaluation of the thyroid and adrenals should be conducted before applying the gel to know if they what route will be the best. Also one needs to rule out primary vs secondary as first step before anything. 80% of endos do not do this and kids 19-20 end up on androgel because of the negligence of the Dr. I have people that are in their 40's being check for primary or secondary to see what is the proper treatment. > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: Primemuscle josborne3@ > > > > > > > Subject: Androgel > > > Absorption > > > > > Questions > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Date: Sunday, September 27, 2009, 6:25 > > > PM > > > > > > > When I was fourteen years old, I > > > > > > > caught the mumps and lost one testicle. > > > Although > > > > > a few > > > > > > > doctors told me that shouldn't cause me > > > to have > > > > > ED, > > > > > > > something has.
