Guest guest
NO!!! smoking is bad but it can't do that!! Smoking alter DNA in grandchildren? My grandfather was a smoker and died of lung cancer, and my grandmother died of secondhand smoke way after they had my father. My father did not smoke, and no one on my mother's side has ever smoked. I am wondering if smoking can alter the DNA passed in reproduction, or if that is set and unchangable? Can Smoking change sperm and egg chromosomes? Guest guest
Smoking can easily alter gene triggering genetic mutations if people are of angelo saxon or irish decent because it causes excessive oxidative stress to the liver which will cause things to slow up. Some people are slow detoxifiers and many of the people that I deal with majority of them are ones that spend alot of time as bouncers or working at night clubs when they were younger. Smoking causing down regulation of specific genes, but also does stress of all kinds. Theory I have been tossing around it why we are dealing with cancer/diabees is because of our great grand parents piss poor lifestylesof smoking and induction of sugar back in the 1920's along with coke that was tainted with cocaine. All of these past event are potentially altering the genes of people of today. Genes will recycle every 120 years. As a society we are getting genetically weaker and weaker its really sad. > > > > So in no way could smoking alter genetics as to cause hormone problems? > > > ________________________________ > From: Kipp Kruse <kckruse@...> > > Sent: Thu, October 15, 2009 10:01:03 PM > Subject: Re: Smoking alter DNA in grandchildren? > > > NO!!! > > smoking is bad but it can't do that!! > > Smoking alter DNA in grandchildren? > > My grandfather was a smoker and died of lung cancer, and my grandmother died of secondhand smoke way after they had my father.
