Liver damage and gallstones?

Does anyone know if there is a link between gallstones and liver

damage? I am still trying to figure out how I got the stones in the

first place. The drs say because I was pregnant, but that doesnt seem

like it could be a cause. The surgeon was very puzzled because I

didnt fit their description of who has stones. They said I was the

youngest gallbladder they had ever removed!! I was only 19 at the

time and I weighed 95 pounds. One of my drs who is awesome has done

many tests for different things. But I am thinking back to when I was

17 and I was poisoned, after wards I was very sick and had signs of

liver trouble, white stool, pain. The drs wouldnt help me though they

thought I had parasites and when they came up with nothing they quit

looking. Eventually I got better physically, and then started to

have " mental problems " , so I know whatever this was had a great

effect on my body. Has anyone else had any liver problems or anything

prior to the gallbladder problems???

Hi ,

Yes, I believe that there is a direct link of liver damage to

gallstones. I found good info at Dr. Cabot's website. It

used to be http://www.liverdoctor.com , but has changed to something

like www.theweightdoctor.com

She feels that a healthy liver directly impacts our whole well-

being. A malfunctioning liver cannot clean the blood of toxins

properly. An overload of toxins can also overload the liver and

cause it to malfunction.

There is also a link to surging estrogen levels and gallstones. -

hence women during pregnancy and menopause often get complaints of

gallbladder pain.

Hi,

I think that a lot of gallstones (liver stones) are formed by cells that sluff

off the walls of the gallbladder (liver). The cells that sloughed off are

likely caused by poor nutrition

especially when one is pregnant. The baby is taking the nutrients out of the

body. I now believe that if I had taken in more of the good fats while I was

pregnant, I might not have been

in the situation that I was in and might have had a better chance of saving my

gallbladder. I would have had more time to research my health as I have done

since then.
