Guest guest
I have the same thing ( so the Drs say) . Almost just 3 weeks or so after having gb removed I had this horrible stomach ache after eating chinese food, it was sooo painful, but it was low in my abdomen not in my chest like a gb attack. I get this pain from now and then and everytime I eat pizza it is very debilitating. I also am VERY irregular and the Drs say I have IBS, I never had any of these symptoms before gb was removed. As far as I know the symptoms of IBS are being irregular, but I havent heard of this severe pain as being IBS, but Im not sure as I havent been back to the gastro Dr to ask. Do you have the severe pain too? Is this also a sign of IBS? I have gotten relief from seeing a homeopath. I also am now seeing a naturopath that uses EDS screening and bio feedback. He jhas given me alot of different enzymes and things that seem to help.I also dont eat very fatty things too often. What supplements have you tried? Were they given to you by a natural health professional ? >From: " meeow741974 " <meeow741974@...> >Reply-gallstones >gallstones >Subject: new to the site >Date: Tue, 13 May 2003 16:23:45 -0000 > >Hello, >I'm new to the group. Guest guest
Similar thing happened to me after gb removal. For some reason I suffer the most after breakfast. Every morning, it seems as if my body is just passing my breakfast right through me without digesting it. I read that calcium supplements can help so I just started Coral Calcium. Someone else who also had her gb removed recommended Caltrate 600 Plus (purple bottle). The only other thing that has helped is a tranquilizer I take to sleep occassionally called " Kolonapin " . Whenever I take it, I am usually okay the next morning. Maybe it relaxes things in the body as well as the mind? I'm not sure, but it does help me cope with the whole gall bladder emergency surgery thing. It was last year at a bad time in my life and I had a very hard time accepting it. I hate taking pills, and I worry about side effects, but I gave in and took them because I really needed relief both mentally and physically. Oh, there's something else my surgeon recommended called Questran. It's a powder that you mix with water and drink before meals (or maybe after - I forgot). It is supposed to bind with the bile acids so they don't irritate your intestines. I tried it and it helped, but it is hard to get down. Doesn't taste very good and remains lumpy in the water. If I hear about anything else I will let you know. I hope you will be well and just know you aren't alone in this. Please feel free to write if you ever need to vent. Best of health to you...Randi --- In gallstones , " meeow741974 " <meeow741974@y...> wrote: > Hello, > I'm new to the group. I've been living with symptoms of what > doctor's tell is IBS.
