Hi Adam and Welcome,

It is a given having a bad infection will lower Testosterone levels in men. Are

you saying the meds they gave you for encephalitis lowered your testosterone.

And you were giving your self Testosterone shots for 9 yrs now you stopped for 4

months.

Endo's do this I had this happen to me seeing Endo's 7 of them in the last 27

yrs. But each time they told me it was to do a base line set of labs. Each

time they did this to me I crash big time got so sick I could not work was on

Sick Leave from work. They never found out why I had low testosterone doing

this all the found out was how dam sick they made me.

How are you feeling did your testosterone levels come back up if so what were

your labs. This would be the 2nd time I read of someone stopping TRT and making

there own Testosterone and not needed shots anymore.

After having this happen to me seeing Endo's I will never see one again they

just are not any good at testing or treating low testosterone. I have lost

count as to how many men have posted they were on TRT and sent to see an Endo

and the dam Dr. took them off there TRT and let them crash.

And a lot of them got levels on the labs very low in the 200's to 300's and told

the men they were fine and don't need TRT. All of them men went to a different

Dr. and are back on TRT.

I could see encephalitis essentially " suffocating " the pituitary some

with the increased brain pressure.

Well, initially after the encephalitis my testosterone was quite low. so i

began treating it with injections. The theory now is that the infection, and

steroids (used to treat excessive brain swelling) caused the low test. Back

then, the doctors figured it was brain damage and i would never make it again on

my own. I never tried until now.
